I mean, keeping in mind that it's fan-made, it's actually quite good. The story was pretty average, and the dialog felt a bit stilted at times, but the animation, music, and voice acting was absolutely fantastic.

8/10 would hug.

Although, the characters move awkwardly too much in some scenes, while in others they move to little, that's the only critism for the animation itself.

I thought it was pretty damn good animation wise, with a few hiccups here and there. Not JanAnimations good mind, but then again Jan is a proffessional at what he does and does it for a living. Bonus points for the VA'ing and music being good themselves. The dialogue ad story? Ehh, I can forgive it being that as an educational project the primary purpose was to show off great animation or something along those lines, in which it succeeded. But yeah, specifically focusing on the negative the story and pacing were all over the shop, and the second half was a giant WTF in and of itself. I doubt ANYONE saw that coming.

Story aside as a fan project I'd give it an 8.7/10. As an episode alongside official stuff the score would probably drop 2 points. With the story it'd get about 7 or 6/10 while compared with the show it'd probably get like a 2.5 or something. Either way, it's definitely not deserving of the severe trash talking it and the makers are getting at any rate. If anything, it's a hell of an achievement for the community.

It's really pretty damn impressive for something done by a group of people in their free time as a university animation project. It could definitely have used some of the polish that comes with professional work, but still.

I still haven't watched Snowdrop. And maybe part of the reason I'm not reacting as badly to Double Rainboom as others is because I wasn't on the hype train for it: I as basically like "Oh, it's out today? Coolio."

I'm not really as plugged into the fandom as I used to be, I think.

This was a really good...what do you call it? Fanfic? Episode? Fanficisode? Anyway, it was pretty good imo. That part with the crossover was actually really hilarious.

And of course, /mlp/ hated it. I guess cmc porn is great, but don't you dare try to have too many jokes.

Between this, and the new comic issue, it's going to be a fun sunday.

Double Rainboom was good. I think it emphasized the animation more than the story but that was really the point of the whole project. For what it was I thought it was pretty good. 

Did everyone catch the Flash logo being the doors at the end during Pinkie Pie's explanation?

David Larsen, the main guy behind the music in Double Rainboom created a vocal version of the end credits theme with others helping on writing the lyrics. Mandopony sang it.
