Not quite inappropriate, more overkill. That's something I wouldn't do, but I only wear hats in videogames. But a shirt or a hat should be quite normal.

I've been wearing nothing but pony shirts for a week, and no one even realized what they were, not even one friend who is technically a hater.

Yeah I don't advertise I watch the shows, if it comes up it comes up. Sometimes people look at me funny when I know the names of characters if it comes up in conversation somehow. Oh well. Whatever floats peoples boats I say.

Wearing the full ensemble… I rationalize It's like women going out dressed in scantily clad outfits, their just asking for attention.

Inappropriate? nah, but I find it hard to believe a rational man could put that on and not know how strange other people would think that is. Either he does not take it seriously at all, or he takes it too seriously. Either way you must treat them as if they were a troll on the internet and not give them attention.

Fat men dressing up as sailor moon, now thats just wrong.

I could see the plushy as extreme But what's different about it in principle than man Carrying around an N7 replica wearing an N7 hat and an N7 hoody.....

Personally i advertize it through my buttons on my hat. They are about 80% MLP the hat is an N7 Hat, and sometimes i wear my lucky rainbow dash shirt about (bad things never seem to happen when i wear it). But my other pony related shirts i often just kinda wear around my house. I'm still kinda shy about displaying it on my clothing and still feel embarrased sometimes when i get out of my car at school or a friends with my ponies on my head. But i shouldn't because i'm not embarrased about the N7 plastered on my Hat or the Doctor who and star wars crap i stuck on my car. So i keep wearing it because if i didn't it would be unfair and not-me.

I've never had my Shards of Rarity's Cutiemark shirt or Philomena shirt commented on by anyone unless I pointed out its an MLP shirt.

N7 replica (Avenger?Normandy?) would be inappropriate in my book but I think it is different since we do have societal conceptions and it feels like people who dress up like I mentioned only reinforce that geeks or anime fans (since MLP is in an anime style) are creepy.

The replica doesn't really matter. The point is Both are fans of a community both are demonstrating that in someway, how is it at all wrong? Beyond the plushy and the Replica at least. Cause that would be a little wierd.
