Like I said, heroines don't do things like that.

It wasn't intentional, it was just what hapenned. Nightmare moon was Luna before, so she became Luna again. Discord was trapped before, so he's trapped now. I don't think she actively planned for that to happen.

Celestia told her exactly what would happen.

She told her, but what could Twilight do about it? It was all or nothing. I don't think she has much control over the friendship-banishment orbital cannon.

As Abraham Lincoln would say, "Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?"  She should have recognized Discord's conquest of Ponyville as a cry for help, and used a memory spell to bring out his good side like she did with her friends.  But, she couldn't love or tolerate him, and now Screwball doesn't have a dad.

Again, what could she do? They can only defeat him with the Elements of Harmony. Twilight doesn't really control the Elements of Harmony. The Elements of Harmony, when used to defeat Discord last time, turned him to stone. This time, they do the same.

I think you're attributing too much to Twi.

I didn't see her TRY to defeat him without the Elements of Harmony.

They lost without them! You saw them all go gray. They even got Twi, and it's only through Celestia's help (glad that louse finally DID something, even if she never showed) that Twi made it to save the rest. It was the Elements or nothing.

Are you sure your element isn't generosity? Because I don't see how else Twilight could be on the same tier as Dashie, Fluttershy, and Rarity.

Exactly. I have no idea how you can put her on the same tier as Fluttershy and Rarity and Pinkie. Clearly she's superior to all of them, along with Dashie.

But that was before they discovered the power of memory spells, and they had no sort of a plan.

EPIC RAINBOW DASH.

EPIC RAINBOW DASH WITH SOME PLANE I CAN'T QUITE IDENTIFY.

Two-engine two-seater, so I think it must be a Strike Eagle or Super Hornet. Don't quote me on it, though.

Nope. Wrong. Sit there in your wrongness and be wrong, and quit crying over a Chaos Lord with good publicity.

They never had a plan. Just "get the Elements." And the memory spell was only to bring someone back to their former self.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but I honestly don't see any way Twi could have held back the Friendship Orbital Cannon (wow, I just did the opposite of that common misspelling). It was her only hope, in my humble opinion.

That still won't heal Screwball's heart.  As Glados would say, "nice job breaking it, hero."

Is that the kind of pony  we want protecting Equestria?

It's the only pony that can protect Equestria.

Twi is totally not Renegade, cause I'm not. It's that simple.
