It's strange being on the other side of the table, and it requires a very large suspension of disbelief, but the payoff is well worth it. SteelHooves reminds me a bit of Auron from FFX. Sort of the stoic badass with an integral history intertwined with the plot. Calamity is...calamity. LilPip is a bit reckless and overdramatic(particularly in the beginning chapters), but she grows on you.
The amount of lore added in, in almost a Watchmen-esque non-linear fashion is surprisingly captivating. Overall, Fallout: Equestria reminds me of MLP itself - it may take a long time to warm up, but the effort is well worth it. And it's free. Huzzah.

Well, before you make that mistake again, I think I should point out the author isn't a he. It is kinda funny though, how Chapter 37 has a larger word count than the first Harry Potter book. XDDominusVita wrote...
By the way, I have read through the vast majority of FO:E up to around 39. Yeah, the first few chapters aren't a great indicator of the rest of the series. Right around Chapter 9 was when his work started to impress me, and the second half of the book takes great creative strides out of the "Move to a dangerous encampment, blow stuff up" formula. Chapter 37 is... without spoiling the whole thing, sort of like taking Mass Effect 2's Suicide Mission and wrapping it with as many narrative twists and revelations as possible. It's the most pivotal part of the book and easily the best. It's also a whopping 97 pages.
