/mlp/ probably the cause of this. They can be downright evil when they want to be.

Sometimes i swear we're probably one of the more chill communities out there. No one here ever seems to hardcore rage about anything and often times we end up discussing how bad other communities are. 

I'm gonna take a guess that /mlp/ is raging about EG and ignoring how it's a 1 off movie. And i'm going to assume another large portion of our overall community is making over the top threats again... Is there some law that says a community on the internet must make death threats(i should say i assume this at this point) when something they don't like happens? Cause this pattern is getting really aggrivating. Especially from radicals on our side of the pasture.

Also, I would say that this is typical behavior of any fandom. They hate change, and will express it in two ways.

This is a typical fanbase fan's reaction to change.

And this is a hardcore fans reaction to change.

Quite reminiscent of when Twi was going to become an Alicorn.

The first one was my initial reaction in a nutshell, but I still found it distrubing how many fans reacted like this.

I could see that. I just wish our fanbase was different even though it's not. 

What i really want to understand though are the Brony-non-bronies as i'm gonna start calling them. These are people lik emy friends offline who Watch the show, like the show, follow the show, enjoy fan made art and music and animations about the show, but then somehow when push comes to shove. They aren't Bronies. You're are brony. But they are not a brony. even though often times they know more about what's actually going on with the show and community than what you do. All fanbases seem to have a group like this that eschews the fanbases blanket name and throws it only on to what they percieve as the zealots of the fanbase even though the zealots of the fanbase arent' all that zealotous. It baffles me.
