Something I figured out:
Luna = moon
Celestia = can mean the heavens, but in this case I suspect it means the sun.
Twilight Sparkle = a sparkle at twilight. And, we all know what sparkles at twilight--stars. Thus, twilight is a star.
Stars>moon. The moon is smaller than the Earth, a fraction of the size or energy of a star.
And, the sun is actually a small star (it's a "yellow dwarf star"). So, chances are that Twi's star is actually bigger than the sun.
thus:
Twilight Sparkle>Celestia>Luna
The Twi and Celestia one is debatable, but she's unquestionably above Luna.

Twilight's finding of the myth of the Mare on the Moon may have been a trigger to allow Celestia to release NMM.

The Theory sort of reminds me when you guys were claiming that the Danger Zone song was intentionally related long before the show to Twilight Sparkle. I'm sure Rainbow In The Dark's Dio was the same way - I always found it funny that he actually does say 'yay' later in the song.
As far as EA's theory, eh, they're just names. The representation and symbol of Sun/Moon/Stars isn't necessarily referring to their magnitude of strength. Half the fanbase thinks Twilight Sparkle is best pony regardless.
