Hard to tell if it's a direct reference, but the boss for AVGN Adventures' level "Super Fun Candy Time" looks suspiciously like a cross between Rainbow Dash and Derpy Hooves. Not sure I want to know how that love child came about. James Rolfe Semi-Confirmed as a Closet Brony.

Watch yourself, it's a good story, but Project Horizons is undoubtedly the most jarringly violent thing I've ever read. It makes Cupcakes Rainbow Factory and Fallout Equestria all look like things that could happen in a canonical episode of MLP.

That is extremely true. But unlike those Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory, the violence makes sense, not just shoe-horned in for the point of making a character from the show a crazed murderer.

Fallout Equestria made the gore happen, but not as thick as PH, but that is mostly because of different plot directions. I'm not entirely sure, Project Horizons is mixing with it and I can't remember much of it, I'll have to go back and re-read it later.

That just makes it more shocking though, when horrible things happen in Cupcakes and Rainbow Factory, you don't get upset because you know the author is just trying to troll you, but when horrible things happen in Project Horizons under circumstances justified by the story, you do get upset because you know you aren't just being trolled.

I feel a speculation rant comming on...

What if the Elements of Harmony are the peices of Discord's foil: AKA a spirit of Harmony. Discord somehow tricked this guy into death, and spread the peices around the world. Discord takes over without opisition, makeing Equestria and all other lands a hell. At which point Tia and Lulu go venturing for said peices, and lacking the magic ability to reform the body, dubbed them the Elements of Harmony.

And on Tia and Lulu. Maybe alicorns are not immortal by nature, but they are because when they recieved thier cutiemarks, their destiny was to raise the Sun and Moon, repectively. If your destiny is to raise the Sun and Moon, how long does that job ask exactly? I'd say as long as the Sun and Moon do.

1. People for some reason abandoned the idea that Celestia and Luna were goddesses after Celestia was defeated by Chrysalis.

This makes sense if we apply what the Christian meanings of a God is: the all powerful, all seeing one that controls the universe at large. But there is more than one god here: Luna or even Discord if you feel that way. Therefore, we're taking into account Pantheon rules. Gods can be defeated, Gods don't know everything, Gods don't see everything, and they aren't individually controlling the universe at large.

2. The state of Cadance's and Twilight's ascension and what it adds to that Pantheon.

Some people are still upset about Twilight and even Cadance being alicorns. I'm not going to bad mouth those people. But what I can say refers to the Pantheon I brought up in #1. A little quote describing the meaning of demigods in Greek literature.

those who demonstrated "strength, power, good family, and good behavior" were termed heroes, and after death they could be called demigods, a process referred to as "heroization"

By this quote, I say that through study and ability, Cadance and Twilight are demigods. And the blast from the Elements did kill Twilight, to be reborn as a Alicorn.
