So anyone else notice the strange things happening with the musicians of our fandom?

First H8_Seed gets rid of all his music, and now iBringDaLULZ.

No idea why Ibringdalulz did that, a few days ago everything was going fine, now his Facebook and deviantart have been deleted plus all his videos on youtube are gone. Wonder what happened...

H8_Seed said that he wanted to move on to other things, which is good and all but why delete all the musical content that people fell in love with? He said something about feeling pressured to make new songs which I can understand but the best route would have been to say he was leaving the brony music scene because of personal problems and keep all of his old songs up for anyone who wanted them. He wouldn't "feel the pressure" to make any new songs and he would have left on a positive note instead of hurting his fans.

For example the living tombstone announced he wasn't going to make any new brony songs for a while to try other things, but he would still be in the fandom. He didn't get rid of his old music and he was honest and clear about why instead of just disappearing on everyone. All the bronies on his facebook were sad about that, but they understood and wished him luck on whatever he was working on next.

Out of all the problems and dramas our fandom has went through, from save derpy, alicorn twilight, Equestria Girls, and all the other things people complained about, I've never actually felt like they would really hurt the fandom.

However if this trend keeps up with the music artist, then I fear the consequences it will have on the growth of our Brony Community.

This would really hurt...

Yeah, people are leaving left and right, whether drama or people are remembering that they wanted to do things and fandom made them forget.

We're in a bad spot right now, but Season 4 is right around the corner, so rejoice it that fact.

I hope things get better, but really why destroy what brought you fans and fame? Why destroy a piece of this fandoms history and culture? A great piece too! This is why I'm glad when people re upload stuff to multiple sites, it insures that things aren't forgotten or destroyed forever.

I don't know anymore, there are too many little problems in this world and too many people letting it bother them. I'm one of those people lol.

A lot of the artists from the early days have gone dark, unfortunately. JackleApp hasn't released anything in a year, WoodenToaster hasn't done pony in a year, notacleverpony was one of the first to leave, Makkon is gone, Dr. Dissonance is gone, Alex S. doesn't do pony anymore, neither does ChainAlgorithim, sogreatandpowerful somewhat infamously deleted all his videos.

So it goes.

On the other hand, guys like Mic, General Mumble, InfinityDash, Foozogz, and sci (who was one of the very first on the scene) are still kicking around and, if not always making new content, part of the fandom. 

I mean, for some people, they're just moved on from the show. It happens. I myself am a ways removed from the days when I had EQD permanently open on a tab and injected pony into a lot of things.

That said, though, while listening to the old music from 2011-2012 can bring induce powerful blasts of nostalgia, it's important to remember that even as the old guard fades away new composers and artists and writers have appeared to take their place. The fandom continues to grow, even as our actual internet notoriety seems to diminish; partly because here in September 2013 we're a long way off from the early days when we were still new on the scene, nobody was really sure how to react to it, and we had our own worries about the show's future - we've now fully been assimilated into the internet and it's no longer particularly unusual, at least within the boundaries of the series of tubes.

Whatever the future holds, we will scatter, adapt, and remember.

Artists moving on wouldn't bother me as much if they didn't delete their stuff. JackleApp kept his stuff up, so did Wooden Toaster. You can leave anytime, but when you produce something great for this fandom, at least leave it behind for the rest of us.

I'm not worrying about people leaving and new people filling the gap, I'm worried about if more delete their stuff. It makes it feel like they and this fandom never existed which is an insult when quite a bit of it is so great!

Yeah, I don't get why they delete their stuff too well either. Speaking of music though, BlackGryphon has put something new out, and since he's back from military service he says he'll put stuff out more regularly now.

Also, since it was announced that Twilicorn would be appearing in the comics issue 13 onward, they clarified on this more due to people exploding over the news. Interestingly, the comic writers have access to the Season 4 script as a reference in regards to writing alicorn Twi and these are the things they have to say. Taken from Equestria Daily:

"Bobby Curnow has clarified things a bit in regards to Twilight's wing addition in the comic starting at #13.  Some of the interesting points to take away from his forum post:An earlier note pointed out that they would wait to see how she acts in season 4 before giving her wings in the comics. They have access to the scripts, and have come to the conclusion that shes still the same Twilight, and treated the same way, just with wings. The dynamic of the characters is still the same.  Twilight doesn't get special treatment as an alicorn princess in comparison to her friends.  They remain as equal as they always have been.The quality of the book will remain the same as it always has, (or improve if the recent arcs are any indication, these things just keep getting better.) "

Mmmhmm, I read the forum post last night.

On the one hand it's nice for it to be confirmed that she's still the same old Twilight, on the other hand I think it would have been interesting for the show to move forward and really explore things. Although, I suppose Equestria Girls did do a pretty fine job of striking a balance between the two during the initial pony section. 

Now, there will always be people who reacted poorly to it at first and now either a) don't want to admit that they were wrong, or are too irrational and/or devoted to their fanfics to accept otherwise.

Looks like I missed a lot. Sorry to hear about the artists dropping out - even with the enormous size of the fandom, those are major hits.

The dynamic of the characters is still the same. Twilight doesn't get special treatment as an alicorn princess in comparison to her friends.

Though to be honest, I'm also hoping that doesn't stay quite as true for the canon episodes. It'd throw a few more narrative wrenches into the mix instead of the same formula we've seen before.

I don't think their character dynamics necessarily need to change in order for them to explore new twists in their episode narratives, but yeah, like I said I'd like to see that too. In the very brief glimpse we got in Equestria Girls (before it turned into a high school prom story and Flash stole the waifu and then everything just went crazy), Twilight seems to be struggling a bit and have her own load of doubts over her new place in the world.

So she's still the same adorkable ball of neurotic as before. But it isn't the same as it ever was. 

tl;dr TAGLINE: Ponies change. Friendship doesn't.

EDIT: One of these days I'm going to write a super-meta comedy fanfic about the Fandom Saga of the Twilicorn.

And it will be glorious.

Whoa whoa whoa, can we take a step back and admit that Impostor Twi is indeed a hell of a lot worse than pretty much anything else on the show? Well sort of, the character sucks, but the plot line is actually pretty awesomesauce.

Real Twi's cool tho. Never will be as cool as Rarity, RD, and AJ, but still.
