Blarg i must take this time to complain. I will never understand people who have been part of a social group that was treated like ours who react the same way to our brony community that others reacted to their social group. It makes no sense to me.

I've been trying to explain for like a year now to a friend of mine that not all Brony's are pushy about it but anytime it comes up, typically when he brings it up or makes a conversation about it, some how we're always the pushy ones because we create so much content that you can't go anywhere with out seeing it, you can read anythign with out hearing maybe a comment about it. Other memes fine ok even but with ponies some how it's being pushy -.- i just do not get it. heaven forbid fans of something create content about it and heaven forbid that fans discuss or draw connections to their fanatacism in other things from time to time -.- dear lord. Does anyone else run into folks who think encountering content from the Brony/Pony fan Base is some how us being pushy?

No it's because we wear a pony shirt, or made an image of something we liked. It's not pushy for me to have a star wars icon as my avi but somehow it is for pony icon @.@ curse you social markedness.

It's ridiculous, is what it is. I have friends who have this one thing they won't shut up about, but if I listen So Shy around them they will freak out. You're right it's not that they don't like something I like it's that it's ponies, people just don't want to give it a chance.
Also,  can't wait.

It's really quite simple the way I see it. You see, the thing is, not all geeks are well adjusted people. Some of them are just so insecure about what the mainstream thinks of them that they can only justify the lifestyles that they've chosen for themselves by attacking other geeks. They seek out other fandoms to hate in order to bolster the illusion that their own fandom is "cool" and "accepted". It doesn't really bother me any, I actually kind of feel sorry for the most devoted parasprites.

Essentially what bo said. There's always going to be a double standard put between MLP's fanbase and just about anything else out there, which is partly due to the franchise name itself. No matter how hard you might explain to particular individuals, many will continue to associate the current MLP with the previous generations which typically enter terribad/overly girly territory. It would be akin to comparing the 1950's Adam West Batman to the 1990's Batman Movies(Minus B&R) - Same franchise, dramatically different style.

As far as the quantity of fan content, it never bugged me. Before I entered brony status, I was aware of many of the GIFs being passed around, but it seemed no more prevalent than your Yo Dawg's and Y U NO's.

As far as my personal MLP Pushiness Level, I can usually tell by their personal tastes and personality if it's something they're interested in. In other words, a Brony Radar.

Yeah i've never quite thought of it the way bo phrased it, it actually makes quite a bit of sense. Unfortunately he apparently doesn't understand the difference between "cloppers" and normal people in the community either and just seems to associate everything with that despite my protests and explanaitions -.- it is so wierd. He just does not want to accept that it is a minority of people not the majority. That and he apparently had an unfortunate experience at Otakon where every brony he ran into was in his words "disgusting and fat" and so he takes again the minority he meet there to be the majority. And i may be a fat ass but i am a clean ****** damnit. and i'm pretty sure we aren't all disgusting and fat. Personally i've ran into plenty disgusting people at cons who are anime fanatics and gamers but i realize this is not the majority and that i shouldn't let the few outliers be the standard by which i judge people. it just irks me so.

Honestly i'm just starting to think he's a "hipster" only the non-mainstream things are good for him and when they do something main stream it's no longer good, in his words it's "better to buy for console than PC because the games were made for Console" , F2P sucks because it's pay to win, JRPGs rock unless they're main stream, games themes change but mechanics don't = bad game. he's also the type of person who if he doesn't like something seems to just destroy it with words in ways that are often undeserving, "People who Flip Flop need to pick a side". Where i live this is often what we call a hipster in these parts. But i'm not sure how applicable it is. He's a nice guy when he's not being a dick to people though. In anycase i just do not get that type of person but at least i think i can kinda understand his motivation for being so nitpicky about bronies.
