Alright, since this is BSN, where the lore of a universe is discussed in minute detail, I don't feel TOO weird asking these questions:

Who is Spike? Is he the baby dragon that Twilight essentially "birthed?" That's what i've always thought, but if birthing a baby dragon is part of the entrance exam into that magic school, why haven't we seen any other baby dragons, or magic students? Other than the great and powerful Trixie, of course. And kind kind of a sub-question, what is their relationship? Twilight seems to me to be almost a mother figure to Spike, or at the very least a sister figure.

Or have I been playing Mass Effect too long and I'm reading too much into a kids show.

Spike is twi's assistant/scribe and oldest friend. He is the one she hatched in "Cutie Mark Chronicles", but the reason we only see Twi and no other students is cause the school is in Canterlot and she was sent to ponyville to oversee the sun festival and ended up staying. So all the other baby dragons and magic students are in the kingdom and Spike is Twi's Assistant/friend/pseudo-son-baby brother. Hope that helped.

i always got the feeling that nopony was ever MEANT to succeed in hatching the egg. it was more based on how well they affected a DRAGON egg. dragons have historically been rather RESISTANT to MAGIC. the fact that Twilight not only hatch Spike but also give him a moustache (again, dragons are magic-resistant the same way 7feet of concrete is fist-resistant) makes it a no-wonder when Princess Celestia, who's been alive for at least A THOUSAND YEARS says TWILIGHT IS THE MOST GIFTED PONY SHE'S EVER SEEN.

i doubt there are other hatched dragons like Spike tagging along prodigy ponies in canterlot.

I also wonder how powerful Twilight is in relation to Celestia. With any luck, Twilight could be ruling the land by season three! lol

A popular theory is that Celestia is actually training Twilight to eventually take her and Luna's place controlling the sun and the moon. It would fit her name, twilight being the transition between daytime and nighttime.

If by "grown man" you mean a male who's over eighteen, then I think so. I found this rather interesting.

If by "grown man" you mean a fifty-year-old lumberjack, well.........maybe not. lol

guys between 13 and 17 and 18 and 24 make up a very large part of the show's audience so if you consider 24 "fully grown men" then ya I guess.
