There's depth, and an apparently harmable self esteem that's strongly based on how she thinks her friends feel about her. 

Pinkie's boundless optimism and sense of fun is what makes her awesome. Even in the face of fear and terror, she needs to express herself. I'm talking the episode with Zecora the zebra and how Pinkie persuaded Fluttershy to sing Pinkie's scary Zecora song, because Pinkie's tongue was all swollen and she couldn't talk, let alone sing.

I thought it worked better with Fluttershy's deep manly voice and slow, swinging delivery.

Applejack suddenly slamming Pinkie's face in the barn door was one of the best parts.

I just watched that episode. Pinkie Pie's growing insanity was hilarious, particularly her party with the "French" bag of flour! Just priceless!

The funny thing about that is, Discord did the same thing, turning Pinkie Pie against her friends by changing how she thinks they see her.  It seemed to me like she had more preexisting insecurities for Discord to work with than any of the others.  On the other hand, Discord could have done a much better job on Fluttershy, if he had known what had happened in "The Best Night Ever".  If the butterflies had simply flown away from her rather than trying to talk her intot hinking that her friends had abandoned her, that probably would have upset her far more.

Honestly, I love Party Of One, it's one of my top-five episodes...but along with Feeling Pinkie Keen and Green Isn't Your Color it cemented Pinkie's position at my least favorite of the mane six. 

Also, watching the second half of that episode with six hundred other people on the Bronystate livestream (the one that spawned the Magneto meme) was one of the greatest 11 minutes ever. The mods turned off all the rules while Pinkamena was on stage.

Personally I liked the way Pinkie said "evil enchantress". It sounded funny. But Fluttershy's jazz style was better for the song XD

Fluttershy couldn't say no to Pinkie Pie.  I loved Fluttershy's serious face while she sang Pinkie's song.

Well, they're all funny episodes, but...dunno, I guess I just don't like how her antics basically only make things more miserable for everypony else in GIYC, and how quickly she took the rather ridiculous leaps of logic to induce Cutie Mark Failure Insanity Syndrome in Party of One.

"Green isn't Your Color" had some great Pinkie moments, like the mementic "FOREVER!" line. However, "Feeling Pinkie Keen" is one of my least favorite episodes. I felt more sorry for Twilight.

What does this mean? Just that when her hair deflated she went nuts?

Sort of. It's a term used for the various occassions where the mane six suffer mental breakdowns as a result of their special talent backfiring on them or just plain not working. 

So when AJ fails to harvest the entire orchard on her own, when Rarity's fashion show with the second dresses is a disaster, when Dashie's insecurities about losing come to the forefront, etc. The most prominent examples, of course, are Pinkie reverting to Pinkamena and 'Shy's "YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE ME" Flutterrage moment.
