G4 fans tend to think of G3.5 as the greatest abomination while G1 fans think of G2 as the greater abomination. I don't think that G2,3&3.5 have any fans though.starwarschewy wrote...

G2 looks like it was made on drugs and I don't want to talk about G3/3.5. "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style" alone is enough to make me break down in tears.

Psychotic Cupcakes:
Demented Cupcakes:
Personally I like Psychotic Cupcakes the most. It perfectly catches the atmosphere of the 'Cupcakes' fanfic.

I think I posted Demented Cupcakes before. Good song - I can honestly say that this show has, via the brony composers, considerably expanded my musical horizons. I still generally hate techno, trance, and dance music, but while I've liked other electronica in the past I've got a greater appreciation for it now.

This one is for you, Black Baron!
This is one of those times where I'm at odds with everybody else in the thread, but...I dislike Flutterwonder. Well, actually, I like the first ten seconds, it's got a great ambience, but as soon 'Shy's singing starts and the beat starts it goes downhill for me.
In fact, I'm not really a fan of most of PinkiePieSwear's stuff (personal taste, of course - as my DJ friend tells me, it's technically amazing). cleverpony, Alex S., and ChainAlgorithim are my favorite composers.

Ah, really? I really like that song...but hey, could you give me some links to songs you think are good? I'm always curious to stumble upon some good music

Personal favorite pony song is actually a collaboration between JackleApp and WoodenToaster for the Remix War Round III, Winter Left Unwrapped:
She's Just a DJ Unicorn - ChainAlgorithim

notacleverpony's remix of one of PinkiePieSwear's songs, Giggle With The Ghostlies:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATweJ39VkqY&feature=BFa&list=PLC59E874E4DC3DFBA&lf=BFa
And on the flip side, a remix of one of cleverpony's songs by infinitydash, Sonic Rainboom In Space (both the original and the remix are fantastic):

And everybody knows this one but for completeness sake, Alex S. - Party With Pinkie

I don't mind the G1 stuff so much. A) because the current ponies we know and love are all based on the core cast of G1, or at least how Lauren remembered them, because the pilot has a bizarre cheese factor to it, whatwith the beast men swooping down on flying lizards and capturing ponies all done on an animation budget of what looks to be about $5 ($4 of which was spent on pizza), and C) it's the 80's, and that excuses everything else.
G2 looks like it was made on drugs and I don't want to talk about G3/3.5. "Rainbow Dash always dresses in style" alone is enough to make me break down in tears.
That and I think it was in G1 or something where they acted too human and that was just bizzare. Ontop of all that the older gens were too sugarcoated and one dimensional, in that sense I can agree that they were purely a girl's show. FiM caters to everyone inlcuding males and adults with it's Looney Tunes-esque humour and epicness.

I watched a compilation of the intros on YouTube, G2 is the one where they all acted like fur-suited humans. I think I also saw some Mr. Potato Heads in the intro, so...yeah, like I said. Pretty sure it was made on drugs. Not one of the crowning achievements of 90's Western animation, that's for sure.
