It's easily the most random episode this season. Doesn't stray too far from the episode description, but the entertainment value, weird references, and general insanity make up for it. It's Weird Al in a musical, and I'll leave it at that.

I LOLed at the whole "Reverse Cupcake" thing. That was pretty clever. Musically, I was very impressed, particularly with the goof-off. Visually I dug the slight 3D effect with the pinkie boots....and 4th Wall breaking IRL footage?! Almost seemed like a spongebob thing.

You could tell when Rainbow Dash is made the judge that there's going to be an incoming problem.

With the addition of Rainbow Dash Cows, I'd say it's 8.5 out of 10.

Fluttershy > Applejack > Rainbow Dash > Twilight Dorkle > Pinky Pie > Rarity
And Spike is better than all of them. His crush on Rarity is out of pity.

Well, it depends. If I wanted to get something done in Equestria, I'd go to twilight dorkle. In terms of personality, Flutters has the elegance of rarity without the vanity and greed, and is seemingly one of the few, if only altruists in the show(except when she's tearing up everything in Putting Your Hoof Down).

I respect Applejack, I just wish she had better episodes - Pinkie Apple Pie helped a bit in that department, as Season 3's Family Reunion didn't do a thing for me.

Random Episode is Random. It's exactly what it says on the tin: Pinkie Pie and Weird Al have a party contest, everything goes nuts very quickly.

And Spike is better than all of them. His crush on Rarity is out of pity.

Humdrum is humdrum. In terms of major male characters in the MLP Universe, Right now all we have that are fan favorites would be Discord(and hopefully some sort of flashback or cameo of Starswirl). I liked the look of Sombra, but he's got a bit of the gordon freeman syndrome. 

As far as spike himself, there's not much to say in terms of character: He's an assistant that's a bit of an adolescent wimp, and yes, he has a crush on someone who can't return the feelings.

What makes Spike the best?

A few last things I'll throw in. As far as the episode, it's good to see a celebrity cameo that not only worked well, but fit perfectly in the MLP Universe. The Simpsons did a ton of that back in the day but it often felt like a B-Story, or just some random bit for the hell of it. Weird Al is still a master at what he does, and I'd welcome another chance for a new character. All Hail Gabe Newell Pony.

The last Pinkie Pride video got removed, so here's a brand new one.

Okay, so Pinkie's grey sister is wearing different makeup this time around. Still, where did the purple maned one come from? Did she just not show up in cutie mark chronicles because Pinkie Pie forgot her in the excitement of sharing her story?

Like how Rarity has a eyelid color difference to show that she is an attractive pony, because they are ponies. Cookie cutter flash puppets they are, they have to do something to show that certain ponies are more attractive than others, so the viewer knows "Oh, they are supposed to be prettier than the rest"

I'm also leaning towards that. Pinkie is many things, but unreliable she ain't. It may be a retcon in disguise and this was a convenient way to do it. Haven't seen Baron in a while so:

That shape of eye, it's used in all images to symbolize excessive beauty or rather seductive-ness. Which is the actual creepy thing. 
just an example:

That general eye shape is used over and over again on female chracters in western animation who are supposed to be extraordinarily beautiful (cough* seductive *cough). Personally i find that general eye pattern irritating but i'm not sure of the message that was originally intended to convey. I just know i equate the eyes to seduction, which turns me off to most cartoons that use them on all of their main female characters because to me their saying "Yeah you should want (to be) this" to their audience. I don't agree with the perspective i feel those artists are creating. I think alot about animation (my reason for loving MLP).

In anycase I don't have a problem with some characters using it but it does look creepy as hell on the fillies. I'm sure there though they were just saying they're excessively pretty. I don't mind that the Ponies have those differences. It's what helps to establish character even if the portrayal comes off as odd or strange. In this respect i don't see it much different then the gender deciding nose, they may have intended it just to further differentiate the fillies gender wise. most fillies have the effiminate nose in the show if i recall correctly.

This is the original scene, it's the purple-haired mare that's missing. Could be linked somehow to Pinkie Apple Pie, since the whole lineage of that family hasn't been cleared up, and we're going off of the one who had a mental breakdown directly before interrogating a dragonling.

By the way, thanks to grav for bringing that up, wouldn't have noticed that.
