There better be Deathclaws as there better be some Skyrim style Giant chucking. Oh and I had the same reaction after discovering ghouls.

It's pretty safe to say that there is a counterpart to almost anything.
And if the original didn't make one, the side fics did.(Project Horizons and Pink eyes come to mind)
Bethesda would make a killing with novel series.

Deathclaws and Cazadors will probably be the boss fights.
The did do two books for TES that tied TES:IV Oblivion and TES:V Skyrim together a little bit more. There is also explanations to why the legendary sword, Umbra was not included in vanilla Skyrim.

I don't know. It attracts people like you too, given you're here.

It ain't like we're sonic fandom yet so I don't know what you mean.
Though I primarily blame popularitus for it.

I don't really know or care about the Sonic fandom.
Or what "Popularitus" is.

Then you don't care about why this fandom attracts certain types of fans.
In which case why ask in the first place?

I think what he's shooting for is that the show is popular there for desirables and undesirables get in. Our show in particular being so popular however also means we attract people who want to be "Progressive" or in other ways politically piggy back off of the show. Although maybe we do have a larger tendency to attract "progressives" or "intellectuals" who think they're ahead of the ball game because they enjoy a show that when critically analyzed could arguably be pushing the gender barrier, partly due to the viewer base and partly due to content. Like the guy you brought up.
So in short we end up with randomly stupid, bias, ignorant, and intelligent fools along side our bright, legitimately intellectual, open, and clever folk like any other fandom does because we're popular. But maybe we have a few more Pony1986's lurking about than other fandoms.

It's even simpler then that though. The show is popular, so there are more people gravitating to it then other shows or works, including more weirdos. Basically everything has to be taken in with at least some scale in mind, because it's not like this is the only fandom with creeps, weirdos, and losers who enjoy it.

I said that too
I just think the particular questionable fan in the limelight here is probably one of those politically oriented individuals who thinks he's a smart cookie. I'm now gonna go get a cookie.... mmmm cookies...
edit:WELL damn... They take my images in my sig away now they make me use smilies?! surely there is an option to dissable these devilish non-text based atroccities!?

That guy looks like the kind of guy who'd slip and fall on ice, and rather than people going up to help him, they'd point and go, "Fedora!" before busting out in uncontrollable laughter, leading to more slip and falls, likely recorded on someone's cell phone.
I'd watch that video.
And then the ponified version.

Why does this series attract people like this.
Well, the series has fans from all over the political spectrum, if that's what you're asking, but some of My Little Pony's episodes theme contain deeply conservative themes that I wouldn't expect a non-fan to recognize. "The Crystal Empire" for example, was an allegory supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In that episode, it is revealed that 1000 years ago, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna attempted to overthrow King Sombra, the evil ruler of The Crystal Empire, but after they turned him to Shadow and banished him beneath the ice, he put a curse on The Empire, causing it to vanish along with all the crystal ponies. This represents President George Bush's failure to oust Saddam Hussein during the 1990 Gulf War. But then, when the Crystal Empire returned, Princess Celestia asked her protege Twilight Sparkle to finish her work, mirroring President George W. Bush's 2003 Gulf War. Princess Celestia told Twilight Sparkle that if The Crystal Empire is filled with hope and love, these things would be reflected across all of Equestria, reflecting the Bush Administration's attitude that toppling Saddam Hussein would cause a domino effect, spreading liberal democracy to all of the Middle East.
So naturally, Twilight Sparkle grabbed her Ponyville friends, standing in for the coalition of the willing, and headed north for the crystal empire. Upon arrival, Twilight Sparkle was escorted to a section of the Crystal Empire which was shielded from King Sombra by Princess Cadence's magic, which was clearly a reference to the Baghdad Green Zone. Twilight Sparkle and her friends later tried to recreate the Empire's Crystal Fair in order to raise morale in the local populace, and in order to do so they went to the library and researched Crystal Pony history. This is likely a reference to the US Military's attempt to win hearts and minds by embedding anthropologists. However, the Crystal Fair failed to bring happiness to the Crystal Empire because the Crystal Heart, representing liberal democracy was absent.
In the end, the Crystal Heart is recovered and King Sombra is killed. Celestia can't find any crystal ponies fit to rule their own kingdom, so she installs Cadence as the Crystal Princess instead, which represents... American Exceptionalism or something?
So there you have it, My Little Pony endorses strong military interventionalism.

Well all I know is that in reality its kinda weird but the writers almost seem to target an older fanbase as many of the jokes are adult jokes that most kids don't get or understand them. As the only real reason I ever watched it was because my sister used to love it but didn't always find the same humor that I did. I'm not here because I like colorful horses I just found it funny and entertaining compared to 100% of all other TV shows.
