And did that by once again reducing Pinkie to 5 year-old levels of maturity/intelligence - just so they could force a happier overall but weaker moral instead: if you and someone else share a BFF, then you're instantly, automagically also BFF-worthy even though you're really not! ...yay?

I think that's a bit of an overreaction. She's not stupid, but she can also sometimes be imperceptive to what will work well in the endgame(A Friend In Deed). The moral is something I can actually emphathize with - In february, I did a polar plunge as a charity for the 10th anniversary of my mother's passing. One in the family is someone I never got along with...But at the very least, you had something to share in common with them, and that's better than nothing. That doesn't make you BFFs, but it's still an upgrade over hostility. The greatness of the episode had more to do with the character herself and how she essentially challenged the mane 6's tolerance. I'll agree that the lack of RD being the fastest flyer in Equestria was likely done intentionally by the writers to have Maud save the day.

So, Ponyvania got quite a facelift since the last time I journeyed in there. The game got 2 fancy intros, a tutorial level for beginners, a new level(Ghastly Gorge), and a new map:

So, Ghastly Gorge. This place is hard, dark, and will kick your butt if you're not careful. There's a plethora of new and nasty monsters that certainly fit the environment:

It's a bit more vertical than the first 2 levels, closer to Cloudsdale than anything else. You're best avoiding those red biters, they can do near 1/3 damage to you if hit. The Boss Half-way through is bloody ridiculous, and has been clearly using Party-Time Mintals.

His general attack is to lunge horizontally, so be ready to jump - if you rolled as a Pegasus, this will be a somewhat easier fight. He can also jump into the air(similar to sonic) and hit the ground, sending a shockwave. Around half health, he goes into a berzerk mode and magically turns into Ryu, hadoukening and shoryukening everything in sight. If he does a magic missile mid-air, I'd say stay where you are and jump when he shoots it, as the damage will spread beyond that but is fine at ground zero. In berzerk, he'll do 2-3 moves consecutively so get ready to avoid his hits. He's not quite as hard as the final boss, but it's close. What's your reward for beating him? This:

Three's a search party, I guess. The Second half isn't quite as hard and mostly involves jumping around in caverns. Fun fact, if you end up dying too many times, a "mysterious alicorn" gives you a chance to lighten the difficulty, or even skip the area entirely. If you decline and keep dying, she even flatout says you're terrible at the game. No Joke.

So Who's the final boss? Well, I suppose you'd have to play the game to find out. Needless to say, it's very challenging, almost more difficult than the hydra fight. You'll likely be seeing this screen a few times:

Ponyvania is a Freeware Fan-Made Downloadable Game. The art style is a bit closer to the GBA Castlevania games and Symphony of the Night. It's also my favorite out of the 3 MLP games I've played so far. It includes:

• Character Customization(Pony Type, Body/Mane Color, Cutie Mark)
• Co-Op Play
• A wealth of well-designed monsters, with very well made Boss Battles
