She didn't actually use gay as an insult, did she? I mean seriously, what is this, the 20th century?

Last I checked gay is still a very widely used insult.

Well, it depends on the girl I suppose. The Brony fandom is always going to have a misconception due to its point of reference. When 'My Little Pony' is mentioned(and they're not well aware of what the fandom actually is), it's not surprising to hear that particular term. When my dad found out about my theme for a party, one of the first things I did was mention that my barn door doesn't swing that way. Without being properly knowledgeable about the MLP Community, people are going to get the wrong idea.
So, what does this all mean? If your potential girlfriend is of the more open-minded variety, it could be an opportunity to show her why you love what you do(Episodes/Fan Stuff/Whatever). If not, well, you may want to consider other options. Plenty of ponies in the stable?

Eh, I suppose we don't really know anything about this girl other than the fact that she thinks "bronies are gay" so who knows, maybe you'll prove her wrong, maybe she'll just grow out of it. Who knows.

Only reason I hide is that I have very opinionated friends IRL that all hate bronys.
Can one blame them?
When I used to work retail, a dude had a Rainbow Dash wallet. I looked at him like he was insane. He gave me a grin like he was.
Thus, I prefer to not associate with such questionable groups in public.

Ok, how does one go about telling a girl you like that you are secretly apart of a fandom that is based around MLP?
You wait until you have been dating for at least 6 months. Until then, dodge the subject.

The "Geek" of today is far more accepted than it used to be. The insensibility and overall detachment from the MLP fandom doesn't feel particularly different from the days of yesteryear.
If you don't like the show, that's cool with me...but I'm not really hearing any justified reasons for believing so. If you have a better argument against FiM, my ears are open. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell you.

Plus I personally can't smile without "looking like I'm trying to peel my own face off with my facial muscles"

Yeah well it's not like I knew she hated bronys until one day she mentioned that she found these "Weird guys that watch a TV show for little kids" called bronys that she thought where strange and seemed almost gay. I don't even really have a want to go telling everyone I know that I am a brony because I have been fine thus far with just keeping it on the internet and not in my real life.

So don't tell her. What will you lose?
And what will you gain by telling her? The support and approval of anonymous people you'll never meet?
There's much worse "omissions" people make.

Obviously, that is why I am not telling her. I don't even really want to go to any bronycon because they are just filled with the most extreme of bronys and Lusty Luna already proved this with their "Real Life PP RP" person they met.

I don't see how someone having a Pinkie Pie tattoo is any different than the N7 tattoo my stepbrother tattooed onto one of his clients, or someone having any tattoo of something they like.

You think I would? No way would I get an N7 tattoo because I played ME1-3.

I agree.
Tattoo's are personal, you can't determine how much value something should have for another person.

Have you ever driven your car while standing through the sunroof singing Katyusha into a megaphone?
Very fun.
