>implying it didn't peak in season 2
Before the second half of Season 4, I may have disagreed with you. Not that it hasn't had its major hits, but it's hard to compete with The Return of Harmony, Canterlot Wedding, Lesson Zero, Sisterhooves Social, Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000, It's About Time, Ponyville Confidential, and the list goes on. So far for S4, I'd say the Must-Watches are Princess Butt Implant Twi, Flight To The Finish, Rarity Takes Manehattan, Pinkie Pride, and for Whom The Sweetie Belle Toils. As I'd probably said before, the balance is far more extreme than S2. It's either genius or just kind of "eh".
And who knows? There are shows (again, The Simpsons) who've had runs that long where they were simply one of the funniest/most enjoyable shows on television for most of it.
I think it works a lot easier with the Simpsons/Family Guy/South Park/etc. formula where there's less of an overarching storyline and it's more of a large universe built as a vehicle for humor. For S2 and below, this wouldn't be as big of a deal since the 2-Parters and the normal episodes rarely intersected. Even though Sombra wasn't referenced after The Crystal Empire episode, they still at least featured that added setting in future episodes. Bringing back Discord also was a clever way of calling back TRoH and opening up potential for other episodes, and S4 has taken larger steps on building some form of long-term storylining without having to require seeing the season from front to back.
Anyhow, I'm just curious how they'd be able to keep a level of progression for the Mane 6 for that long a period. I'm sure they'd find a way, but we'll see.
Looks like Mrs. Orange is having a few too many *Dawns Sunglasses* slices... on the side.
Sounds juicy, nothing wrong with a squeeze now and then...

Also, I just noticed this. Mr. Sonneborn may not have made my favorite episodes, but he has a strong respect for badassery. Kratos' Home for Imaginary Abominations.
