If I lived in Equestria, Id get into some sort of business and be rich. Quite possibly Steam and engineering. FTL jump Equestria into the industrial age.

Why jump the whole place into the future when you can just get yourself modern weaponry and just take everything over because they don't have modern weaponry.

Why praise the sun when you can own the sun? I am sure one 50. cal bullet to the brain would be detrimental to Celestia's health.

Yes...Yes. This is brilliant. And I will teach them the tongue of dragons and the royal canterlot voice shall level mountains and throw inanimate objects across the room.

No, not like that.

Basically you "love and tolerate" them by not executing them, feeding them once a week, and give them plenty of work to do.

That kind of system only works for so long, then you get a rebellion, then your once subjects play volleyball with your head.

Take into consideration the Diarchy they have now.

Have you seen anyone starving? Homeless? Any sort of lower economic class?

Now ask this. Have you seen any prisons? Heard anyone speak of any laws?

The government in Equestria is practically nonexistent, yet somehow everything works.

For thousands of years it works. With even change in power balance with Luna's banishment, and subsequent return, you see no actual changes.

Perhaps it has something to do with the psychological origins of ponies. They are after all, a prey animal, when our species(while omnivores) are predators, and think like such. It could be that is what gives them the advantage, the fact that they evolved(?) from a species that was prey, while most intelligent life in fiction and otherwise, evolved from predators.

But, in magical pony land, I can just cast a mind controlling spell to remove any thought of rebellion and anyways I would still have the modern weaponry while my slaves would be reduced to weapons of primitive quality.

Celestia obviously has some Gulags she ships subjects that displease her off too.

Celestia and her puppets Cadance and Twi need to be removed. Maybe even launched into the sun.

You would also have to worry about ponies that can fly and use magic. A bunch of pegasi holding onto unicorns that are carrying a rather large rock could do a fair bit of damage.

That's even assuming Equestria has the minerals and metals to make these weapons.

Plus memory spells to hold allegiance, while admirable, don't work very well. Remember Twilight's spell on her doll in Lesson Zero? Yeah, they loved him and his mane all right, but everyone was so consumed with it that they couldn't focus on anything else.

So, you magically remove rebellion from the minds of an entire country, let's say you've gotten that far. These ponies literally have no will of their own, because rebellion from the norm makes it so they move, go to the bathroom, eat, and generally do anything that isn't just standing in a vacant spot staring at nothing for their entire lives. The entire "slave workforce" must be directed by you to do every little thing, puppets you must control wholly, down to the breathing.

That's assuming you have the ability to cast a... wait, it would literally be a megaspell, right? yeah...

So we are talking you would have to be on a magic level of Discord himself(which I will remind you, is buddy-buddy with the ponies now) in order to pull this off.

I take hypothetical very seriously, because it's important to think of everything.

That is what I'd plan to do once I take over everything.

@Gravisanimi Btw, normal unicorns casted megaspells in FoE and they were not Disorcd. And how can a unicorn cast magic when their horn is cut off, or a pegasus fly without wings? I never said I wasn't going to torture them, I just said I was gona feed them once a week and not execute them.

If Luna was to take me to a planet, I'd want to go to that new Planet X place cuz supposedly there is intelligent life there that I could take over and rule.

Yeah, megaspells were done by unicorns.

Multiple unicorns, working in a structure designed to focus that magic. That's like saying one of the four Double AA batteries in your TV remote is changing the channel. And what about Discord? Do you just expect to walk up and blow the God of Chaos' head off? Far too predictable, unless you kill them all at once, they are going to see it coming.

Which reminds me. Pinkie Sense. You gonna have a bad time taking care of her. She, with her power to bend reality to her will

@bo: I personally would have loved to see Maxwell Montes

Rambling about a pony episode.

Princess Twi's face throws a minor wrench in the episode, but it's what you'd expect - sort of a flea market going by a barter system, and surprise, more than one of the Mane 6 need an Uber-Valuable item, requiring more than they have all together. The episode eventually boils down into the longest fetch quest in Equestrian History. I found myself bored through a good portion of this episode. There's not enough to keep me interested in this one.

That has got to be the most negative post I've ever read by you. The Rarijack interactions, Twi's drawing and those Discord lamps make the episode worth it for me.

It also seems incredibly bizarre that RD's that interested in a book signed by daring do when she's already met, saved, and gotten a signed book from her. Continuity much?

How is it a lack of continuity? She got a signed book. The *latest* signed book. That was the first copy of the first issue ever. You're not a collector if you have only one rare item.

I'm not trying to sound like a ass or anything - objectively it isn't an awful episode, but too much of it left me bored i.e. Simple Ways. If you enjoyed it, more power to you. Yeah, it has its moments, but not for a 22 minute watch. I'd save time checking specific scenes on YouTube than watching the whole thing. A harmless mess, but a mess.

You're not a collector if you have only one rare item.

It's easier accepting someone like Rarity may go in that route, but it doesn't fit RD as well for me, particularly based off of Daring Dont's events. You'd think after spending an entire day with your idol, you wouldn't consider the possibility of putting your best friend into slavery just to get a book with her handwriting. That's just me.blackjack_zpsdda1154e.png

Luna wants to take people to Uranus? Why do I get the feeling there's a fanfic of this somewhere on the internet?
