This ...This is getting pretty dark pretty fast. Like it's beating EQG's finale on that.

The fight scenes are damned crazy. That much we can all agree too. Those parts reminded me a lot of this from way back:

So what I learned from the last episode of this season is that they might pull a "We like Impostor Twi" story that makes real Twi real depressed and they have to overcome it

If they throw in a 10 minute flashback explanation, I am okay with this.

He hoped, like he later told Fluttershy, to be completely free to do his shenanigans and have Tirek as a friend to keep him company.

Guess I was hoping he was smart enough to realize adding Tirek to his friends' list is a doomed direction, regardless of Discord's endgame intentions.

Like I said in my first post in the subject, I don't think any of this holds any water: it's very clear in the first part that she doesn't enjoy the ATTENTION she gets JUST for being a princess WHILE doing nothing she feels makes her deserve such position.

Yeah, he was ballooning this up a bit. The scene with the political members and spike's response is fine, but having it turn into a musical number felt like it was beating a dead h-...

After his baffling impressions on Equestria Games* I wish Tommy would stop kicking episodes for not conforming to his misguided expectations.

While it's not my favorite episode, he kinda went nuts on this. If Mr. Polsky had nailed the Spike-Centric Plot, there'd be a lot less complaints on the episode. They did nods to previous EG-episodes, but it's still essentially a spike plot - for better or worse.

Of course, the mere existance of the reset button isn't ideal, but as long as the season finales stay contained in 44 minute-long episodes, any resolution more complex than that would require much more time to avoid making the episode as rushed as MMC was. I wish people realised that.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Canterlot Wedding works fine with this. Once the shield is up, Team Rocket blasts off again. Similar deal with Princess Twi. As far as the rushing, yep. Tommy's main complaint on the first 2 episodes were exactly this: To give a meaningful conclusion(and fill in more blanks to that 2-Parter), you need a lot more time than what was given. But considering it was the pilot, I'm leniant on how that turned out. Perhaps they should consider 3-Parters? Is such a thing even possible?
