It is and it makes me look bad.
Guess who's back

Back again.
It'll never be the same.
That is what the Great Red Haired One said.
(And no, not Miia, I'm talking about Fausticorn)
What's that have to do with it?
Guis guis guis this is gona be the main character in S5.

So much persona, much counteract with ponies...(NSFW)
So i'm bored and nate and i were discussing pony musik Soooooooooo here's one i found i think it's nifty not the best but not bad:
Guess I was hoping he was smart enough to realize adding Tirek to his friends' list is a doomed direction, regardless of Discord's endgame intentions.
It depends, really. Either Discord's reasoning was emotionally impaired, or this is true. I'm sure it's not what McCarthy meant, but it makes 100% sense if you're not a fan of Discord getting softer after S3, so I would accept any of these as true.
Perhaps they should consider 3-Parters? Is such a thing even possible?
AFAIK Voyager had a season end with a 3-parter hangcliff (one of the episodes a season apart from the others). I would rather have a EQG-budget movie instead.
Off to watch Digibro's impressions after some other vids.
I don't want another EQG movie unless they include gangstas.
I'm not exactly up for another multi-paragraph analysis-of-an-analysis, but let's just say that Digi's concerns were WAY better justified than Tommy's (with the exception of the fight scene, which he can keep dissing if he doesn't fear for his life =P.) And that's even considering how Digi felt much more ambivalent than Tommy about it. It's just that to me, most of his concerns are given a pass and/or not big enough to warrant such fretting - facepalming at AJ's dialogue, calling the castle the worst piece of **** ever even though I agree it IS a step back from her awesome tree, pointing out how Celestia's plan was flawed (who said her plan was perfect?), etc.
His two best points though, the ones I can agree with the most, were that having Discord learn his lesson AFTER Twilight demanded his release would have made his arc's resolution much better structured/clear, and that the first song was nearly useless and visually uninteresing. Couldn't the lyrics have had more substance? Couldn't the princessesses have been, oh I don't know - FLYING AROUND THE KINGDOM DURING THE TWILIGHT WITH PRETTY STUFF GOING ON? Why stand still on a balcony staring at Twilight for 30 seconds with a sad face? Why not be more direct about "Look, you kinda have to figure out your role yourself" instead of making it sound like "Hold on missy, we'll give you... something... someday" ----- something that contributed to the "I want more" impressions from Tommy and others.
I don't want another EQG movie unless they include gangstas.
Equestria girls may be getting a series all on its own.

That... uh... does sound like something discord would and would also totally be capable of doing... it really does. I mean how many times before has he feigned guilt ever so convincingly? And given how close he appears to be to fluttershy i find it immensley difficult to believe he'd really betray the ponies. Flutters was really broken up about that. I mean you could he could totally have legitimately bretrayed them or that seriously could've happened...it did kinda seem all season like he was plotting something...afterall...
I like the route they took with discords. It made his turn to good fully complete, or at least more complete then it was in season 3 onwards. Because to be honest discord seemed to view a lot of the ponies besides fluttershy at a distance, with a mutual feeling that they aren't his friends and he won't be theirs. There's also the fact that discord hadn't fully given up his ways even with his friendship with fluttershy, always seeming like he may or may not have crossed over to the darker side of things. And even this season we've seen he's been willing to put fluttershy in danger, or else why would he have let his plants go anywhere near her? Basically, discord hadn't really turned over a new leaf as much as he did find a means for which to maintain neutrality, and tirek was able to push him from neutrality back to evil.
I have no dobut discord didn't think things would be as bad because he would be co-owner of equestria, and would have enough power and sway to get some kickbacks in the new world order for his one best friend in the world. It was only when he was on the receiving end of what it was like to betray someone and experienced what he had been doing to others that it seemed to click that he had made a very terrible mistake.
So yeah, discords change seemed pretty good to me, imo.
Personally, I have no trouble believing that Discord would willingly betray the ponies. It just doesn't seem likely that a being so old could completely change his ways so quickly. If we assumed that he has spent 1000 years of his life conscious and that he's spent less than a year being a friend of the ponies, that year would feel as short to him as a week to a 20 year old. He seemed happy enough frolicking with Fluttershy, but from what we know, spreading chaos without a friend in the world worked out for him for quite some time. With that in mind, he could have just dismissed the time he spent as a friend of ponies as a waking daydream, or a rash decision he made looking up the barrel of the orbital friendship cannon.

Isn't this assuming he precieves time in some even, completely interval way? 1000 years of boring nothing could have just been that to him, nothing. Like being stuck in a boring lecture where you tune most things out and occasionally snap out of it when something interesting happens. Also, I think having a friend for the first time would impact him because its the first time its ever happened. Its something new and exciting and something discord wanted to see play out. He seemed to think fluttershy was like the others, not really a "friend" but someone who tolerated him more then others. Hence his "you surely knew this would happen" line. Fluttershy isn't like discord and so tirek offering something similar to fluttershy might have appealed to him on the grounds he might find a friend to enjoy his chaos that was more atune to him then fluttershy was.
Which is why the betrayal was worse for discord, because it was the first time he actually let himself drop his constant guard against someone and had them utterly stomp all over him, unlike what fluttershy did with discord, and him realizing what real friendship is and whats just being used is like.

I think both options are completely believable given discords personality and how he behaves in general
Discord just does stuff because he wants to like Sheogorath. If he wants to destroy a city or make one, he does it.

I like what they did with him because in a way friendship was his downfall. Admittedly we don't know to what extent he may have trusted others before, however his misplaced trust and dedication in Tirek and his cause is what lead to his downfall. Which culminated in him recieving a token of their friendship, i mean Alliance, which Tirek then revealed to be just as meaningless to him as any other tinsy trinket. In no small way i feel discord was screwed over by his newer more trusting more accepting of friendship self. They point there being don't trust strangers who promise you the world when you have reliable friends who will stick with you thick and thin. At least If he really was lured into a trap at least and he hadn't planned the whole Charade.
I mean really for me i think i'm leaning more towards the discord planned this route this whole season he had been showing up rather randomly to do stuff and try the ponies patience testing their friendships with him as it were. The question here is why? Was he just that Curious or did he have this in the works the whole time? He knew things about the tree of Harmony obviously from the get go and seemed to be manipulating things in a way that we couldn't quite see, or at least i felt some of the episodes implied. SO as of this moment i'm leaning more towards the Discord planned this for some reason idea. What his motivation in planning it is would still be unknown.
