I have encountered my first brony IRL.

I was driving through my town and a black Kia with a RD sticker and a Big Mac sticker in the back window. The driver also had very bad taste in music as he was blasting AWOLNATION. I would have taken pictures but I was driving. Everyone on the sidewalks watched him drive through town which was funny.

I love how in MLP, Manhattan looks like a high class place, when in real life NYC is a dirty Indian paradise.

Equestria Girls was like constant flaying. Rainbow Rocks will be more like a flay every 10-15 minutes. What I like about the vanilla show is that it has more depth beneath than what people would expect. Equestria Girls is exactly what people would expect; A Mindless Kiddy Adventure that's kind of funny, but ultimately meaningless. EG and RR seem to be targeted more to the original audience - Kids and Parents.

It wasn't too bad i don't think I mean there have been worse.

Wasn't unwatchable, and expectations weren't exactly high for it... I think they did fairly well with the premise, but the premise itself isn't what I'd expect most bronies to want. Using a high school setting with a boring plot isn't what I was looking for.

That was photoshoped, I do not know a single person on earth that would do that to a plane.

For what it's worth, I personally think Nightmare Moon has the second best design in the show, the first being Discord. My like for flutters is all personality - pink and yellow are my least favorite colors. Brown kinda sucks too.

Funny story that's kinda similar to the above: My dad unknowingly shared an artsy picture of discord and took it as a manifestation of satan, wreaking havok. Considering his mannerisms before the end of TRoH, he's not far off. Charismatic but manipulative. Chaotic. Tirek has more of the classical devil look, though. Missing a pitchfork, but whatever.

I can agree with that whole heartedly. 

 

what would be nice is maybe a movie about the crystal empires dissapearance, or something that threatens equestria. 

 

 

also Dovahbrony that moon rise video was good but celestias hair... there were problems there. The rest of it is great though just celestia's hair xD. too much hairspray before the filming >.>

From JesuOtaku For those who don't know i believe she's a member of Channel Awesome/TGWTG idk i stopped actually following her on twitter over a year ago when she was seemingly white knighting a cause for views or something. In anycase it was still retweeted by some of my friends and made it to my feed somehow. 

 

After Fruther digging i find out it's because Bronycon has done This Which honestly I don't see a problem with if it's optional and not forced on the con goers.

she has a plethora of other anti-brony or at the very least offensive to brony statements while hiding behind the words "not all" uttered seemingly almost as an after thought as far as i could tell (might've missed something)... i really dislike it when people generalize us. I mean we have our Creepers, and our Dark Places and things.. But damn it every fandom has those things! 

 

 

So my first question is really how large a problem was that at Bronycon to begin with? Is this her being more unreasonable or do you think there is a legit problem with the tags? And how likely do you think it is to fair as a working system? 

 

Now as far as my opinion goes as i said i think it's an interesting system and i would be a willing participant in it, not that i've ever been harrassed but i'm not particularly... socially adept shall we say? And more often than not interractions with people outside of the contexts of School or Work leave me thinking "Uhh... uh... pandas?" I just don't know what to do and it does bother me. And while i enjoy cosplay and getting pictures taken i think such a badge system would allow me an easy out or a way to better ease myself into a social environment than simply jumping into the water with the sharks >.> 

 

As far as the intent or attempt they're making with the badges to avert harrassment i'm uncertain if it's a decent solution to the problem as most people who are being, in a way, predatory, harsh word but it's the only one i can think of to describe such a person, by intending to harrass an individual will likely not be stopped by the badges. However if we're just talking about individuals who lack social graces but don't realize it becoming a nuissance to those arround them by accident and assuming they honestly mean no offense to someone or have no intent on harrassing them i could see them following the now visual cues that folks wish to be left alone.

 

Getting back to jesuotaku's rant however (now ended by some time) I do however find it ironic that while yes no other con i have heard of has started such a system (a point jesuotaku makes) she seemed to ignore literrally the scores of signs littered across large conventions attempting to dissuade Harrassment. I see this as a minuaturized and personalized version of that larger general access poster system that can be useful and more accurate. 

 

I don't see this as an attempt by us bronies to "make ourselves the victim" but rather adress and solve the problem that some sizable chunk of our community lacks adequate social skills in a real life scenario (myself included).
