Reluctance is not necessarily indicative of closed-mindedness. Some may just enjoy watching the show without feeling a need to write all about it. And that's fine by me, hell, that applies to just about every subject on these boards. The point isn't to pressure people into bandwagoning along this ride.

However.

I think it's unfortunate when bright minds choose not to make a positive difference and help lead by example. What if I chose to go 'Well, this place looks too weird/nasty' 3 years ago? I think, with the hiatus on full effect, there's a lot of opportunity for individuals to make the MLP thread look less like an Art-Dumping Fest/Recon-Joke-Marathon, and more like, well...

People hear about Adult Males watching what'd typically be considered a little girls show, and it's a bit jarring. It's easy to make an assumption, stay in one's comfort zone, and move on. I know from experience since I did that the first time I heard about it. Perhaps being associated with the fandom may be the problem as well? For every Saberspark and BlackGryffon, there's a Clop picture, a nasty meme, or something that remains a reason to stick on the fence. This is all speculation, but it's a decent guess, anyway.

Eh, I have a theory that that people don't like the idea of grown ups watching MLP merely because to an extent, we all need to judge other people in order to define ourselves, but that's just me.

I'm done beating around the bush, my avi is the art of a dakimakura(body pillow) that I myself commissioned. Were I a clopper, I would have gotten a pony related one, and ordered it with a hole.
