Hypothetically, let's say Hasbro wants to recast the show, and for some reason they decide to scar children around the world and kill the main cast in order to wipe the slate clean. How would be the best way to handle that to you? How would you kill off the pones who light up your face with a smile, smile, smile?

Handling death in a family show is complicated, especially for this franchise. I'd spread out the reveals over the course of the seasons... not unlike FO:E did over the course of the chapters. So they won't do this(NSFW).

Twilight dies from....well, she's kinda stuck.
Pinkie Pie dies from an unhealthy party.mov lifestyle.
Applejack dies from Diabeetus.
Fluttershy dies in a relatively normal way, buried in the Everfree Forest. No Joke.
Rarity dies from a slave labor retaliation.

It's stand alone. Originally it was going to be a mod, but at some point they decided they'd rather just build it from the ground up.
