I saw it. I think they got the visuals down better, and it's slightly more memorable than the first. Neither one made me a fan, but it does have humorous bits to it. I baaaaarely remember EQD, besides what was in Bronies React.

AJ does have a great voice, and it's impressive to have one actress doing 2 voices at once; The same way Andrea Libman manages to do Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy during the same recording session. That's a level of Bi-Polar I can respect. XD

I'm surprised by the lack of love for Applejack. She's one of the more honorable characters, and is both honest and loyal, in the same way Rarity's element and Fluttershy's element could be switched to either character. The latter may have inspired Green Isn't Your Color. Which leaves Rainbow Dash as... element of Awesome? Sanic? Yeah, I'm not sure there.

I'm going to be blunt here.

If you have no interest in the show, and have nothing new to add to the discussion, then there isn't really a point in posting. The thread's been up for 3 years, and we've had 3 years of hate posts. The topic doesn't need any more. I said a while back that I was up for Non-Brony Opinions, and I still am...but the above isn't providing any reasons for it. Naming legitimate grounds for it would be a good start. Or at least I'd say that, but you seem to believe it doesn't require any.

If you change your mind, we'll be here.

Otherwise, I'd suggest avoiding the topic altogether if you don't like it, and have no interest in talking about it.

Enabling Cybernetically-Enhanced Critic Mode.

Good Stuff:

• Nods and References to the show, up to including a certain 'party'.
• Tara Strongception
• Focus on Non-Violent Solutions, which generally don't get noticed in Pony Parodies.

Bad Stuff:

• The Visuals are out of G3, which should burn in a fire tbh. This was okay in Equestranauts since it was on there for all of a minute. 
• Teen Titans on 100 cups of coffee is essentially what Teen Titans Go appears to be... and that scares the crap out of me. It's more of a preferential thing.

Wasn't too bad.

Outside of Fan Parodies, Mad TV's Parody and CollegeHumor's Brony Commercial are some of the betters ones.

Ponyvania: Order of Equestria finally got updated with a new level. The downloading website for it can be found here, the official trailer can be found hyah.

I straight-up nerded out seeing they added a new one. I'll give it a play tonight and see how it goes. If they ever fix the low-resolution problem for recording, I'll happily do a Let's Play on it. At the very least, I'll pop out some screenshots and a review.

Gilda is designed a lot like Storm Eagle from Mega Man X, but a bit more difficult. I'd reccomend trying it as a pegasus; A lot of her gliding attacks are easy to avoid with flight available. Even with her berzerk flying attack, you can just keep alternating between high and low to avoid it. I think she pops out a tornado too, so head all the way to the Left or Right before it hits.
 

Most of her melee attacks aren't too bad. Poke her with a stick & walk away is the basic formula. If the feather tossing gives you problems, just try to keep a distance and/or move yourself between them. Her Swoop shouldn't be hard to avoid regardless of class. Once she's low, make a jump.

As with any of the boss fights(especially 2 & 4), keep a Water of Life drink handy. You will probably need it. Not so much with Gilda, but it's nice to have anyway. Worse comes to worse, tag it on easy mode if it's not there already.

Beating up Dragons and Ponies And Stuff: Ponyvania

Okay, so the updated game is out. Here's how it turned out. Click the box below for the whole review.

Added to the Character Creation is eye shape and color, which can add a very different flavor to your PC, and the touch is appreciated. We also get added sounds for the creatures, which helps a bit in the atmosphere department.



So, Appleloosian Mines. It looks like the level structure feels closer to Cloudsdale/Gorge, exploring both vertically and horizontally, indoors and outdoors. The enemy selection doesn’t dissapoint - Mummies have a strong range, the chucacabra has one of my favorite enemy designs, and cursing has been introduced(and thankfully isn’t the kind from Dark Souls 1) for the ectoplasm. That could be hell for Unicorns, though. Those gargoyles are rather annoying to fight. It’s not the invincibility that bugs me, but their evasive skills make it very tough for EP and Peg classes to do much outside of ranged moves like Tornado. Mandragoras disguise themselves as something else and suicide bomb at you...that's clever and evil at the same time. I like it.



Let there be Lack of Light. Legitimate lighting plays a role in the game, and at one point you’d barely be able to see your mitten in front of your face. Sort of like in Link To the Past when you've got nothing but a lantern for lighting. Unfortunately it only lasts for a small portion of the game.



Azhuizotl feels like a cross between the Manticore fight and the Chameleon Fight in Mega Man X. Best way to avoid his tile throws are timed jumps, and a similar deal with his punch-moves up top. He’s got quite a bit of health. Gave me a hard time the first round, but he’s not too difficult and Pegasus can breeze through this one. Nice touch with the kitten easter egg.



So the final boss… I’m actually mixed on this one. Bowler Hat-wearing Mustachio-Sporting Spider in a Jail Costume? Hubuzawha? It just feels very random and out of place in the Ponyvania world. I dunno. Gameplay Wise, he’s a good challenge. Trying to hit this guy with a Lance or Horizontally-Focused weapon is gonna be tough. I beat him using Laevatain, Fidelis Lacerta, and Tornado as the primary skill. His Melee Strikes require good reflex, though the ranged webs are generally easy to avoid. It only becomes troublesome if there’s too many in one area. I like the adds. Not particularly threatening, but it’s a nice touch. Some of those designs…somepony had fun, I see. He’s not quite my favorite boss battle, but it’s definitely a cool clash.

10/10, would die to Killer Dandy Spider again.

I’m fairly happy how it turned out. I wouldn’t mind seeing more atmospheric touches to the oncoming levels like Cloudsdale had with lightning in the back, or Froggy Bottom Bogg’s water effects. Maybe add more varied background assets to the first half of the mines for variety?
