If there's stuff you'd like to know about the series, we're an open book. Hiatus season is a good time to dig in since the bronies aren't exactly busy with many up-and-coming episodes. Not til Early 2015, anyway.

I'd always considered making a Copy-And-Pastable FAQ on the topic, maybe it's time I worked on that.(The OP isn't exactly as informing as it could be)

The show is a bit overpopularized, but I'd definitely say it's worth the watch. All the fandom creations are a great deal more than icing on the cake - for some, it is the cake. For others, the cake is a lie. The other is probably recon >.>

You know... when you think about it that game really has a disspointing ending. You're either bakrupt or potentially morally bankrupt and a millionaire. Why does anyone play that game? All it does is dissapoint at every turn. Is it just like one ****** massive satire? I just don't understand.

The Original Demographic was for both children and parents. The same could be said for many popular franchises; Disney Films, Dr. Seuss, and others that have settings, characters, and storylines that universally resonate with people regardless of their Age or Gender.

As far as femininity, the characters have a more modern and respectable characterization - femininity is still there, but not to the ridiculous extent some of its predecessors had like G2. If a predominately female cast is a deal breaker, best to avoid it altogether.

There‘s quite a few ways. The easy and free way would be Daily Motion, which legally hosts the episodes in their entirety. YouTube has them as well, but they‘re virtually all Reaction videos and have commentary over them.

If you prefer to own them, ITunes/Netflix/Other Digital Stores have them available at roughly $3 an episode. The DVD versions are available too. If you‘re starting out, I‘d just check them out online before jumping right in.

I take it you‘re familiar with Rule 34 of the Internet? Well, it applies to the show as well. Somewhat infamous for it. Ergo, those who either create or use said material are known as Cloppers. That‘s pretty much it.

Q: I’m one of those fancy-pants Intellectuals who enjoys going deep into analyzing the show. Where might I look for Critics?

There are a select few YouTube channels that have grown strong renown for this. First and Foremost, Tommy Oliver. When it comes to relatively-unbiased Analysis on Characters/Themes/Storyline, he‘s the TotalBiscuit of MLP and your first stop in this direction. His friend DigiBro also does similar work in this department.

TBBBAP(Two Best Brothers ’Whine’ About Ponies) has a more competitive edge to its analysis with a bit of humor. They tend to clash their opinions against each other and see if something comes out of it.

KP! Lots of referencial humor split between some Odds & Ends for episodes(or just general stuff for the Show/Fandom).

Silver-Quill is one I‘m slightly less aware of, but I do know they cover the episodes and explore it to the best of their ability.

Sure. Some are in a series, and some are one-offs. I’ll start with the big ones.

Friendship is Witchcraft: One of the earliest brony series. They redub the original episodes in hilarious ways and sometimes build them with storylines far different than the original. Wincest.

Ponies Anthology: Probably the lengthiest of them all, PA are a huge compilation of short videos varying anywhere from normal parodies to re-dubs short PMVs, and everything in-between. 2-3 remain my favorites.

.MOV: The Ever-Controversial .MOV series is one you’ll inevitably find out about. Created by HotDiggetyDemon, these are a collection of shorts that delve into dark satire with highly graphic and language-filled parody. The visuals are known for going all over the place, and has referenced everywhere from The Simpsons to Evangelion. The shorts are somewhat connected to each other, ending up essentially as a 45-minute film. It’s been one of the more successful videos and HDD himself as appeared many times at BronyCon as well. Season 4 has referenced it at least a couple times, I believe. Can’t link this one, people will have to find it themselves. Sorry.

Two Best Sisters Play: Take a funny video play through, add ponies. More notable ones are Portal, P4, and Pokemon Snap. Don’t shoot the fishy.(NSFW)

Fluffle Puff Tales: Non-Verbal Cute, Silly Shorts. It’s the Odd Couple, but with ponies.

Mega Pony is exactly like it sounds. Take the Mega Man Framework and add ponies. The Mane 6 have been hypnotized - can you knock some sense into them and stop Discord’s Anarchistic Regime?

Ponyvania is a damned good game for Dungeon Crawlers. Epic Boss Battles, Satisfying RPG elements, A Co-Op Mode, Choice & Consequence, Brilliant 16-bit atmosphere, what else needs to be said?

Fighting is Magic is a SF-esque fighting game with stellar animations(possibly the best for MLP games), a good balance in combat, and it’s just plain awesome.

My Little Investigations is the only MLP game I know of with Full-On Voice Acting, which is impressive. It’s also one the few Non-Combat Pony Games out there. As Twilight, you’re set to search for clues and use your linguistic skills to uncover the truth. It’s not perfect, but it’s a very nice change of pace.

Super Lesbian Horse RPG is a weird game. The name probably gave that away. It‘s an Earthbound-inspired trek through some weird-ass dungeons with weird-ass fights and light shipping humor.

...Fan Novels?

Plenty of That. The most Well-Known of these would be Fallout: Equestria - the FanFic that’s been fully published, spawned multiple Spin-Offs, PnP RPGs, and soon to be a video game. It’s easily the most influential Fan Novel of all time. Crossing over the Fallout Universe and MLP, The World has been torn asunder after a civil war cleansed it with a flurry of mega spells. And from the ashes of equine devastation, a unicorn named LilPip struggles to arise. Life in Equestria is about to change.

Project Horizons is, in a word, dark. Taking place during the same events from FO:E, Blackjack sets out on a journey into the wasteland…but what’s in store is perhaps more disturbing than LilPip‘s Quest. Mysterious, Intriguing, and Hard-Hitting; If that sounds like your cup of tea, go ahead and take a look.

Last Spin-Off, I swear. Murky Number 7 has it pretty rough. Born into Slavery and Weak-Willed, MN7 is trying to remove the shackles of fate and forge one’s own path. At the very least, it’s a more refreshing story structure than the somewhat formulaic Vault Dweller’s Globe Trotting approach.

The Monster Below is about the choices we make, and how they affect us. A pragmatic character torn between his wants and his morality, TMB is an engaging read that I’d highly recommend.

Rainbow Rocks is a significant improvement from the first. I'm not sold on that Spin-Off franchise from the sequel, but they're getting there... I think. It feels less like a quick sell-out for kids/parents, and gets a somewhat better story for it. Sunset Shimmer ends up as one of the better characters for RR.
