Yes and yes. Some bronies are just too easy to mock, I can't help it.
I'm not sure I've got this right, but it seems like some are genuine bronies, some are in here to make fun of bronies, and you're somehow getting along. Also, Stanley Woo the brony, oh my...
I think the vast majority of us here are actually bronies. For example ObserverStatus (AKA Bo) and recon (He loves luna though he'll never admit it...) Others just pass on through. But yes We are primarily genuine bronies and our community's disposition is pretty much "whatevs" and lets face it as bo says we do have a very mockable community. Might as well laugh with them instead of shout at'em
What kinda crazy celebration are we going to do once our thread hits 2k pages guys?
I'm still waiting for all of us to show up in a DLC or something as a cult that has to be killed for a sidequest. You acquire it by hearing a rogue Inquisitor shouting about heretics in a town square.
It's not totally unprecedented - the "Jiert" you get an email from after Thane's recruitment in ME2 was based on a forum member from the old BioBoards who was really obsessed with Thane after his introduction in some trailer or other. That was around the time it became a meme that Thane only moved around in the vents and dropped through them to surprise people.
So I checked out the comics and have gotten about halfway through. Very happy with how it turned out, sort of feels like watching a new season spread out between events during Season 3 and all the way to the end of Season 4. If you're curious about the show but prefer Hand-Drawn art versus Flash Animation, this could be a very good way to check out the franchise. The art style is very expressive, occasionally extreme or dark, but extraordinarily well done - that and the humor thrown in is impressive. So without getting too spoilery, my thoughts on the comics.
The Power Ponies Comic(Annual 2014) is gorgeous. It has some of the best visuals in the MLP Comic Series. The Story fits the average Superhero comic book, and reverses one of the series' ever-so-popular tropes. It's a major step up from the original episode, anyway.
Equestria Girls(Annual 2013). Well, if you already know my opinion on Equestria Girls, you know where I'd be going with it. Kill It With Fire etc.
The 3 MLP Recaps are essentially the flash art formed into a readable comic. They have the 3 most important arcs in the show(at least before Season 4), so it's handy to have. The Original 2 episodes are more like a necessary evil, but CM Chronicles and TRoH are seriously good.
The Friends Forever Comics are more like One-Offs that fill in the blanks and are generally character-oriented stories. Most of them are fantastic. #1 seems very rough visually and in terms of writing, but it picks up quick afterwords. One of them almost seems inspired by the Stewie and Brian episodes. Overall, the FF Series have the best stories in the collection.
Nightmare Rarity Comic... I want to like this comic, but I don't. It's visually stunning, but a narrative mess. Considering the story spans 3 comics, it's a bit disappointing that the storyline borders from ludicrous to sloppy.
The Return of Chrysalis. Ultimately this is a way for Hasbro to answer what happened to Chrysalis. Many of the comics seem to originate from unanswered questions from the Vanilla show, and it works to IDW's benefit. This is also one of the top comics visually. It's very light on story, and is better enjoyed for its journey than its destination. It's got a great sense of humor and is worth the ride.
Reflections is a clever way of explaining pieces of MLP lore by filling in the blanks. Somewhere betwixt Flashbacks and Otherwordly directions, it's a respectable sci-fi-esque volume of the Comic Series.
The Bundle's still up for a couple days, so now's a good time if that sounds like your kind of thing, and the proceeds are heading to the Hasbro Children's Fund.
Ah, a new piece by Inuhoshi-San. Got a neat shine to the hair, especially Blake.
Much like Dennybutt, Inuhoshi has a knack for bridging the visual gap between Artistic and Realistic for their characters. Finished up the Micro Series, Character-Centric Bottled Comics. Rarity and Celestia's were probably the best of the collection. RD and Twilight were weak on the art, but the rest were much better. Anyways, here's a GIF.
