There's a new "Mentally Advanced" episode up.

So we've got roughly a week until major info gets dropped on the fanbase, and I'd expect some are either catching up on old episodes or newcomers looking to get in. As much as I love this show...the quality is, and always has been all over the place. I'd reccomend watching specific episodes instead. The good news is that the few episodes that throw in important pieces of continuity to the show tend to be the better ones(Discord Arc, CMC Arc).

So if you're looking for a list of episodes to blaze through that won't waste your time, my personal list can be found in the list below. For the sake of saving you 45 minutes, the first two episodes in a nutshell:

Ponyworld is ruled by Sun Pony and Moon Pony. Moon Pony goes nuts for contrived reasons and gets thrown in the moon(or something) for a long ass time. Meanwhile, Annoying Purple Horse gets sent on a mission from god to meet up with 5 ponies, which are slightly less annoying than her. Evil Moon Horse shows up and goes muhahahaha. 6 Main Character Ponies go on an adventure that shows off their abilities. Annoying Purple Horse meets Evil Moon Horse. They Kung Fu Fight. Elements of McGuffin Stones get broken, but then they realize it was in them all along. Evil Moon Horse becomes Normal Moon Horse, and Bronies get Sliced-Pizza episodes for the rest of the season.

Eeeeyup. FO:E is fairly light-hearted in comparison, taking more paranormal, outlandish directions. FO:E felt a little more By-The-Numbers based on the source material.

Well, FOE is about 650,000 words, and according to my last calculation, not sure how much it grew over these last few chapters, Project Horizons is 1,300,000 words, and it's fair to say the last few chapters made it hit at least another 100,000

Fallout Equestria is fairly ambiguous about that, several decades. Really can't get more precise than that.

They seem to be going all in on a sweeping storyline this season - I guess Season 4 was the babysteps away from being essentially all slice-of-life, all the time. 

 

Although it remains to be seen how much this trailer actually represents the season and how much is just represents the premiere, the finale, and maybe a couple in-between, lol.
