Yeah, I feel you. This is the kind of thing you'd get in a darker program given what was going on. Which makes me SO HYPE for what comes later if it follows a similar dark path. Probably won't, but hey you never know.

Prince has never really gotten over the events of Magical Mystery Cure. So he clings to this belief that it's just the "Mane 5" now and that Twilight has been replaced by an imposter.

Bit of both, really. Communism, in particular, is very reliant upon charismatic leaders and a cult of personality - and Glimmer clearly wanted to export it to the rest of Equestria, while a lot of cults are focused on how they're "special" and know things only reserved for a chosen few. Of course, it reminded me a lot of Harrison Bergeron as well, which is more of a satire of forced egalitarianism than anything. They were pulling from a lot of things to make this village. 

 

Fluttershy's never really had a major part in a finale or premier, I do like how they gave her a little time to shine here (after building it up and making it seem like she might betray the group).

Well, I never did see any of the previews so that was definitely unexpected. Unexpected, but great that is.

The episode is pretty damn gutsy, considering where this show started.

Fluttershy's never really had a major part in a finale or premier, I do like how they gave her a little time to shine here (after building it up and making it seem like she might betray the group).

Outside of Carrying a Hot Air Balloon in TRoH, pretty much. I liked eet.

Yeah, it's my only major quarrel with the episode, Hasbro gave away too much and took the fun out of watching. I'd recommend shying away from the previews, and I'll also try to do the same.

I see more where Colaman is coming from with it being more cult-like than Communism, as Communism is less worried that you are all the same, everyone is allowed to be special in a communist state, but you all get equal footing.

 

The fact that it shares some similarities to Communism is coincidence.
