its a show that transcends boundaries.
I'm not saying you must not watch it, I'm saying it's weird to like it if you're male and over the twenties.
Despite Hasbro's target demographic of young girls and their parents

She got drunk on the cider and made crude remarks about Rainbow Dash's dress. She also pulled a few of Luna's eyelashes out with her teeth.

You're entitled to your opinion, I mean i'm sure people still say that about those folks over 50 who enjoy fairy tales, children stories, comic books, sci-fi, D&D and all those young people who want to play those new fangled Video Games etc... etc... My point is everything is wierd at one time and meet with social resistance because it's not "normal" but you do realize that you're about 3 years late for prime argument time right? I mean I don't go into your DA and ME forums telling you it's wierd that your a human romancing Fictional characters when instead you could be outside romancing real people...
Additionally, while i don't agree that ponies does it frequently, Children's media has been used to communicate subversive and radical ideas through out human history. Additionally there are whole fields of Grown Men and Women who study children media, fiction etc... Adult interest in the Media of Children is anything but new and If we're playing the quote game Lauren Faust, for lack of caring to find the appropriate title, the original author of this generations ponies has been quoted numerous times as saying she designed the show to appeal to all audiences as a show that both children and their adult parents (likely over 20 or in their 20s unless suddenly children are also now parents i must have missed that memo). She's also quoted as wanting to change up the rather formulaic existence of young girl shows. So the target demographic might well be the young girls, but the target audience is clearly intended to be wider in scope as per the author.
I mean I won't say your opinion is invalid but it's awfully arrogant to assert weirdness when you no doubt have you're own tendencies people find wierd or socially awkward. In anycase this is our place to enjoy ponies. So while you can certainly feel free to post in here. Just don't be negative about it or try to argue the subjective "wierdness" of our hobby/show. We don't do it to your stuff so don't do it to ours. If you do choose to do so you should probably come better armed than wiki and your opinion alone. No offense meant.
“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

give the new episode a shot Recon, I wager youd actually like Celestia. If this episode has taught me anything, its that Celestia is willing to summon a god of chaos to her party because shes bored.
And?
It's a statement, there aren't "andS" after, everyone is free to draw conclusions from that.

Yesterday's episode really was the best one I've seen in years. It had those embarrassed looks on the audience's faces during DIscord's stand up routine, Maud Pie's sick plasma burns, the rise of Lord Smooze, Fluttershy's new friend being a stoner, Rarity thinking she's human, it was great.

Its kind of messed up that they keep having parties when Luna has to work. Best episode so far though, some actual real conflict and a real development that hasn't been over used already.
