Its because they don't want it to be a show based on one massive adventure. The episodes are more slice of life. Them going through their daily issues and such.

If you liked her, you'll love Discord. He's deliciously sociopathic in a funny way.

Except he's in eps 1 and 2 of Season TWO. So he'll have to wait for that. Hah.

There's another big bad in the first two episodes of Season 2.

All the other episodes have minor villains or just issues they have to deal with.

Know that there IS an overarching plot throughout Season 1. Its vague but there. You'll hear of it in episode 3.

i say give it a chance. its definitely not your contemporary fantasy tv show but you might like it.

And princess Luna isnt so bad. she's just an unloved, and uncared for almighty goddess of the night who lashed out in her failed search for affection.

they wanted her to be a monster. so she gave them one.

By the way, The Ticket Master was episode 3, right? I think so. Applebuck Season was episode 4 if I remember correctly and I don't want to get the two confused.

The seasons are made up mostly of "samaritan" episode, where it's stand alone epsidoes with contained conflicts. But in S1 there was the Gala story arc that was the plot of three episodes. If you want a definate villian, the first episodes of each season have that, as does the episode with Gilda, and the one with the parasprites. And Over a Barrel is really funny cause it kinda parodies cinematography seen in action movies. Other than that it's mostly comedy.

Anywho, figured I'd mention that while Twilight looks like she'll kick the butts of all other ponies in that video, God forbid they make Celestia a playable character.

Dunno if they'll make Big Mac a playable character. He'd play the tank role I guess, and be even stronger at melee than AJ.

Twi looks overpowered, but she's got less health than some of the other ponies, as far as we're aware.

I imagine AJ and Rainbow Dash definitely have way more health than her. Probably the only two ponies with less health than Twi are Rarity and Fluttershy.

But Fluttershy can submission wrestle, so that's a non factor.

He's basically Q transported into Equestria. 

Also, there are a few adventure-type stories sprinkled in, although they still fall into the slice of life format. "Dragonshy", for example, has the girls going on a mini-quest to stop a dragon; it's got a funny A-Team homage in it and probably spawned about a third of the Fluttershy memes you see.

oh if u dont know, Phoenix in the Marvel vs capcom game was notorious for taking the "glass cannon" gaming archetype to an entire new level.

Yeah, I take it Twi will be strong. Very strong. But only at a distance.

Close up, she gets destroyed. The Mane Six Team made that clear when they had her fighting AJ over the livestream.

This is because AJ is a close range high powered fighter with more health than Twi. But at a distance, AJ can't do much. She has to get in close, while Twi has to stay away and use projectiles and traps.

I wonder how they'll handle Fluttershy.

Lowest health is a given. But what about her damage dealing?

And what will her ultra attack be? I think it'd be interesting if her strongest attack just restored her health by a high amount.
