The bar is thicker but the Pinkie one has more littler bars. I guess I just don't get how it's based.

They look about even, really, but I've personally seen more Appledash than Pinkiedash posted to EQD, which is where all the stats are coming from. In the end, it doesn't matter, since they're far and away the most common. One of them makes sense to me, the other is just baffling. 

Seems like this fandom could use less lesbian shipping (which half the time just means Rainbow Dash shipping, except the occasional one where she's with Soarin or Mac). Then again, we could probably do with less shipping and grimdark overall.

Although if I had to choose which one of the two to get rid of, I'd probably pick grimdark. I've read some exceptionally great fics of both (Building Bridges for the former, The Night That Never Ended for the latter, and though I've not read it FO:E as well), but there's just been a tsunami of grimdark and sad fics lately. 

And let's not even get started on grimdark shipping.

Whoops, Got caught in the moment. I dislike  shipping and fanfics which is what cupcakes is in or should be...I dont want to know anymore terms lol.

Grimdark for the sake of being messed up needs to stop. But stuff like FO:E where it isn't a pointless gore spectacle is actually very good (Only when it's in service to the story of course, and even then, in moderation). The way they do it adds weight to the story, unlike Cupcakes style stuff.

Hey, don't badmouth Cupcakes, Sergeant Sprinkles may have just used Grimdark for the sake of making a big horrifying spectacle, but at least he did a good job of it, unlike most other grimdark for the sake of grimdark fics. Sweet Apple Massacre contained far more "edgy" materials than Cupcakes, but the author had no idea how to write a scary story so it just came off as stupid.  The guy who wrote "Sweet Apple Massacre" should just be embarassed.

He means the ones where one of the Mane Six is shipped with themselves. It's also been done with Trixie...twice.
