Kkat commented on someone's art of Lionheart and Mouse, commending it. No issue was made to Lionheart's sex, which was depicted as male.

I mean seriously, can you tell whether this enclave soldier is male or female? I would assume that with ponies it is just as hard to tell.

Ponies have the noses actually...Next time you watch notice the noses. Male Ponies tend to have blocky noses while the female and children ponies typically have "cute" noses persay?

Similarly all Female ponies, with the notable exclusion of the 2 Pegacorns and the Zebra who all have relatively blocky noses we see the same cute nose as Fluttershy (this is also extended to the children Noticeable in the Halloween episode.)

So it would be reasonable to assume that any pony with a Blocky nose is a guy while anypony with a "cutsey" nose is a girl. They aren't wearing Power armor afterall. So it would come to stand as a reasonable guess all gaurd ponies we have seen have been male. And if this lionheart(who i've never seen) has a blocky nose it would also be a male pony

In one of the chapters Gilda goes to kill her in the recording pip listened to. I doubt she could, but maybe Gildo killed her.

Littlepip surely didn't have any doubt. Further reading has her always referring to him as well, a male.

That and the armor he's wearing is the palace guard armor. You'd be able to tell what sex they are.

this is true but this picture shows the difference between one of the female ponies and the typical gaurd pony I'm just going to link it cause it's far to large to post  But you can clearly see a difference int he gaurd design. But i've never seen a picture of this Lionheart you speak of i'd love a link though so i can actually compare it to other ponies accurately instead of just generalizing the visible pony gender difference.

edit: i'm also not sure if you're talking bout the enclave fellow or the pony still >.>? i went with pony i hope i got it right.

That and Luna enchanted the palace guard armor so that they always spoke in the Canterlot voice, which means Dash would have the royal Canterlot voice in the flashbacks with Gilda and Canterlot, which she did not.

Also, Ghost- That Dash/Gilda thing is a spoiler. We already know what the result of that interaction is.

Armor has become far more intricate since the time of FiM, and it could be assumed that guard armor has changed as well.  The story's description was vague enough to allow for the possibility that it was modified shadowbolt armor.
I know that Littlepip was quite convinced of Lionhearts sex, but Dashie has had 200 years to perfect her act of masquerading as a stallion.  I have speculated that after the war, Dashie was so ashamed that she had failed to stop the pegasi from abandoning Equestria that she changed her identity, and took a male one to make it harder to guess.

Again, this would provide for poor protection against zebra firearms.  It would not be unreasonable to assume that since the war, they have upgraded to armor that looks something like this, but with batwings.

Littlepip never saw a memory orb of Dashie's transformation.  She could have put on the armor after the apocalypse, and then accidentally become exposed to the pink cloud as Littlepip did.
