Apparently Gavalanche didn't like it either.  He decided the best thing to do about it was draw a scootabuse picture, and it's not pretty.

Tabitha St. Germaine (Aka: Derpy's Voice Actress, also Rarity, Luna, Zecora, etc.) Thought that Derpy Hooves was MALE when she recorded her lines.

People have been sending her hate mail and it's ****ing horrible. Hopefully this can set things straight!

It's not over that. 

Some people are just particulary butthurt over Derpy being portrayed as, well...derpy, and given the name and voice that she has. Yes, to the point of berating people that like the character as "disgusting ableists" and **** like that.

Plus, Derpy's voice to me sounded like it came from a mare. I didn't really think of it coming from a stallion.

Maybe because I was preconditioned into hearing it that way as I know Derpy's a mare.

They're really reading into it too deeply. Plus we already knew she was disaster prone from previous episodes and numerous time she was drawn with crossed eyes so just because she sounds a bit funny people immediately start pointing fingers. I remember someone else pointing out in this thread that this isn't the first a character in an animation has behaved and sounded like this.I for one thought the voice was really well done for her and brough out her character quite a bit(if a little too low for a mare).

Most likely. According to Seth though the backlash wasn't actually as bad as people think. The amount of support outweighs the hate. People do still think like idiots sometimes though.

It came on once not long before The Last Roundup streamed on bronystate. Don't know the name though. Speaking of Italy are any of you aware how drastically different the intro is over there compared to well, everywhere else?

I sincerly hope they don't change it I thought it was well played on their part. I dont' really see how anyone could have any dislike for it given the community Named Her Derpy. (and of course she is the best character ever! her and dash they win)
