i can see the setup now, a rehabilitated gilda returns to ponyville to rebefriend rbd with the promise of finally being able to tell her how she feels. unfortunately the entire ponyville is suspicious of her actions and are doubtful. this in turn keeps her from rainbowdash as the mistreatment of the town slowly undo's her progress as a new griffon.

No. The lesson is, she must learn to love herself before she can truly love another.
