Faust said she wanted to have it so that they were dead, but felt that it was too harsh for a kid's show. It's still the case, but it isn't mentioned.

Where was it mentioned that Photo Finish was that old, was it in a flashback or something.
Also speaking of ages, Colgate Lyra and Derpy seem to be much older than the Mane Six at least. They show up in their flashbacks in Cutie Mark Chronicles already as Adults.

I'm just gonna throw my 2 bits in here regarding age, I think we can agree in general that FS appeared to be Abnormally Tall for a Filly in the CMC episode, I honestly think she's probably the oldest of the 6 if heighth is an identifying factor, Lets not Forget that Of the 6 We only Know for sure that 2(FlutterShy and Rarity) live on their own with no supervision at all and 3(Pinkie lives with the cakes, Twi in a library selected by celestia and reports into her with great frequency, and AJ lives on a farm with her grandma and stated Older Brother(i believe he was stated to be her older sibling)) can be confirmed to have some form of supervision.

So from my point of view that Puts Rarity and Fluttershy at the top of the age list with everyone else falling behind. And as i previously said I believe that FS, from her awkward gangliness in the CMC episode, is probably the oldest...Or she was one bloody tall filly. everyone else appears roughly the same in height. just my 2 cents

Though i do find it odd we've never heard mention of AJs, Dashes, FS's parents.

Actually, Fillyshy's appearance in Cutie Mark Chronicles is probably the closest to what a young horse is actually supposed to look like...in terms of her general build and gangliness, I mean.

Still, I agree, it marks Fluttershy as being one of the oldest. Although it does make it hilarious that Dashie - who's probably a couple years younger than her - is defending her honor.

You know, if you think about it, the CMC are essentially expys of the Powerpuff Girls. Apple Bloom is Blossom, Scootalo is Buttercup, and Sweetie Belle is Bubbles.
