What's with people being outraged over this Derpy Hooves character? From YouTube comments on rage videos it sounds oddly familar to a bunch of Trekkies or Star Wars fanboys being enraged over something minor.

Some people thought that between her original voice, the derped eyes, her klutziness, and being called "Derpy" (which is apparently an "ableist slur"), she was making fun of/insulting/sterotyping/what have you the mentally disabled and won't somebody please think of the children!?
So the episode was pulled from iTunes, and when it was reuploaded yesterday they edited the scene to change the voices, underp the eyes, and cut out the part where Rainbow Dash says her name.
Derpy's become something of a symbol for the fanbase, since her entire character and name is basically an invention of the fanbase that the creators decided to run with. So some are taking this...rather hard.

I watched the extended opening song and I thought it was kinda bad. Not terrible bad, but I thought the lyrics were kinda icky and it didn't seem to have the same flow as the shorter opening. Also, I really like the "big adventure, tons of fun" bridge and it's missing from the extended opening! I was waiting for it the entire song, too!
Also, looking forward to the Fluttershy episode.
