You know, the saddles themselves aren't really that creepy. Twilight wears one at the beginning of WWU and it looked just fine.

Unfortunately, Rule 43 exists for a reason.

EDIT: Also, some 40K Luna from Joseco.

-So, what should I call you?
-Princess.
-I mean, you. The individual in front of me.
-We are all princess.

You know I wonder if the new zero tolerance stance will prevent pony & brony haters from posting in the thread?

I haven't posted here in a while not since that pinkie jumps out of the laptop gif. Guess accountancy and contract law assignments have kept me busy, and fighting the good fight for my UK brethren over ME3 CE cancels. What I miss?

I suppose we can call this the definitive story of Derpy Hooves.

It sucks that Amy had to get caught in the crossfire on this. But I'm sorry, "derpy" cannot be defined as retarded. Maybe it was, at one point in time, but no longer. The first definitions she came upon were correct, and she got put through too much **** over nothing.

the problem is, kids might use the name "derpy" for name-calling. You know how impressionable kids are.

i thought it just meant like idk silly slip up over looking the obvious lack of common sense in a situation in general That's what i've thought it was. The first place i heard it used was "Herpa Derp" in a sentence like "Well Herpa Derp what'd you expect?" as if though it was simply disregard for common sense Frankly it still means disregard for common sense or a silly awkward embarrasing slip up and frankly i've heard it used, seen it used and used it synonamously with "blank out" Derpy Has Derpy eyes though Because they're Silly :P, ditzy is by far more offensive and is never ever used Positively.  "Ditzy Blondes" anyone? "Don't be such a Ditz" They aren't entirely interchangeable and Ditz is the harsher of the 2 from my experience. Maybe i'll go analyze it's usage across 40+ forums, or find some other linguists who'd be interested in this and we can get cracking on 40 forums each until we have a large enough data set to prove something.

Derpy is still derpy in My Character books Idc what the duece they call her >:| and i did like her voice getting closer to Dr. Whooves and assistant but something about how they do her voice is just...more Derpy (as in character) like too me than what the redub was :/ actually love their work

And that will stop them :P lets be honest The **** we said when we were in grade school wasn't kind. Words only have a negative effect if you allow them too and start censoring them like their taboo. This is such a case, If you don't teach kids to use the word Negatively don't let them catch on to the negative perception they won't use it negatively. It's like hiding the booze in plain sight and trusting your kid not drink illegally. If you lock it away you add excitement and rebelliousness to the act of drinking illegally. If you censor a word under teh pretense it might might offend someone you not only inadvertantly encourage the Usage for negative purposes but you trigger mass Proliferation of the Negative meaning in my honest Opinion. How many of swore back in the day because it was the "Edgy Adult thing to do" at the time?

Then lets role out the list of How many people we've called retarded to mean stupid and gay to mean stupid and a N**i to mean ass? does this let me say **** again yet? See and this thing still blocks out the Abbreviation for National Socialist Party of Germany in WW2 for some bloody reason. That's not right.

Ethical arguments about intentionally Restricting Language Aside Derpy is still Derpy is what i'm hoping that e-mail meant If not then i'm one mad brony -.-

They have a lot of loaded words already. And i doubt the appearance of a wall-eyed & clumsy but loveable pony could in any way make "Derpy" a commonly used insult for disabled people.
But it doesn't look as if this mainly was a "can't you think of the children!"-situation. The main concern seems to be not to offend anyone with the show. Granted, i'm no native english speaker, but from what i've read, "Derpy" doesn't look very offensive to me. If Amy Keating Rogers, a writer and mother of a disabled child,  had to do some research to come up with an offensive meaning, it must be pretty obscure. Many, many words can be taken as offensive if taken out of context, or have changed meaning with time. I can't really hold the changes against them, but i do think they a bit over-cautious here.
Well, it's done. She's Derpy for me, and i guess for most bronies. As background ponies' names are very seldomly if ever mentioned, i guess it's easy enough to live with it.
