That episode was an impossibility. I think that's spelled right.

I have no idea what you just said.

At any rate, there has to be a trigger event, a reason for Twi to go back in the first place. You see, during the first time, there was no future Twi. That means, there was no way for Twi to learn about the go-back-in-time spell. Twi would never have gotten worried in the first place, since there was nothing to get worried over.

That's why I hate time travel. Way too many gray areas.

Still, Solid Sparkle is awesome.

Shining Armor, yeah. We've known that since the TV Guide summaries came out.

On the one hand, it runs my theory of Shining Armor and Cadence launching a coup of Equestria, and it's a little strange that Twilight has a brother she's never mentioned before.

On the other hand, he has a cool character design, and the fandom is already making some good fanon with him. In fact, at this point I'm afraid he won't turn out to be nearly as cool in the show as he is in fanon.

And on a third hand, the Brohoof Bash is now canon.

No, you don't understand. Time isn't linear. There was never a trigger event for Twi to go back. It always happened that way.

Yes it is. For humans and sentient ponies, anyway.

That's irrelevant. Relative to the universe, time is a continuum. There's no event that caused her to go back the first time. It's just always happened.

Humans and ponies can only perceive time in one dimension though.  Causality is merely a construct we use to make sense of phenomenon far beyond our comprehension.

But it doesn't work that way. Each event is preceded by another. An infinite number of events all swirl together to create one, which in turn creates another. There is no certain path that destiny must go down.

One of the few things I disliked about FF XIII-2, but that's an aside.

Untrue, Causality is real.

Though I suppose at this point we really can't convince each other otherwise.

What bobo said.

Read Slaughterhouse Five, if you want to understand the concept a little better.

At this point, though, it becomes a belief rather than a scientific observation or hypothesis. There's nothing to support that point of view, and while I believe otherwise, I'm sure it could be argued that there's little to nothing to support my point of view. So we'd be going around in circles.

Hey guys, you hear that sound?

That's your blood stream turning into sugar when you react the part with Shining Armor and baby Twilight Sparkle.

Oh, hey, new synopsis for the season finale.

Episode 25 - A Canterlot Wedding Part 1
Air Date: April 21
Synopsis: Twilight's brother, Shining Armor, is marrying Princess Celestia's niece, Cadence.

Episode 26 - A Canterlot Wedding Part 2

Air Date: April 21 (Listing the same date for both, I'm stumped)
Synopsis: Twilight discovers a dark secret about Cadence right before the wedding.

And John de Lancine is voicing a character in the finale as well...

*cocks shotgun*

THE HUNT IS AFOOT.

Celestia's niece apparently.

Wait, does this make Twilight sparkle *gasp* ROYALTY?! Twi is going to be a princess since her brother is marrying a princess! Although Celestia always did have dibs on Twi's plot so its a moot point tbh. :P

Oh and as for that timetravel thing, Im with Baron on this one. If not, then WW2 would keep getting altered and Id be popping in and out of existence so fast it would make shrodinger's cat crap itself.

this begs the question, what kind of ponies are twilight's parents? they seem like the quiet suburban folks type but they mingle with kings and queens.

They are probably among the nobles but probably one of the lowest in power.

also if Celestia has a niece, does that mean Luna has a child/children?...is THAT why Luna isnt there? And Princess "D. Cadence", that does have a goddess-of-the-night flare to it.

It's been speculated they might be part of the Canterlot aristocracy. Certainly their home from Cutie March Chronicles seemed very nice...and I'd wager that the building Twilight initially runs to in the pilot might be their/her house.

Even her brother marrying Cadence doesn't make her royalty, though, it doesn't work like that. 'Course, Princess Sparkle does have a nice ring to it.
