A bit OT, but did any Last Airbender fans get as excited as me when it turned out Amon, the antagonist, has the very same power used by Aang to avoid killing Ozai in today's The Legend of Korra episode?
A bit more on-topic, TLOK is another of those cartoons that have much more depth than one would think looking at its intended audience, just like MLP. But whereas MLP was (supposed to be) intended for little girls and was limited to slice-of-life episodes due to Hasbro asking Faust to make the show watchable in any order, The Last Airbender was meant for early-teens boys and had an overarching story... er, arc. After the first half of the second season, the show was much more mature.
And Korra starts off with that same level of maturity. In other words, it's better than pretty much everything else on TV cartoon or not (NOTE: MLP doesn't count) (yes, flutter Game of thrones)
But apparently that's not enough for some people. I've already seen "Why are grown man watching this? Disgraceful" comments.
Dude, on the second episode of The Last Airbender you discover that the Airbender Monks were genocide-d out of existence. With an incredibly detailed (and creepy) skeleton. Of someone we had just met peacefully in a flashback.
Hay, in this episode of Korra alone we got two in-your-face "My entire family was murdered" stories.
I'd normally just say "haters gonna hate", but some of my friends aren't even respecting me as much as before after they found out I watched MLP. Really? Drooling at gratuitous sex scenes in GoT isn't exactly mature behavior.
What's the problem with these people?
