If I can say one bad thing about the finale, it's that it didn't feel like the rest of the mane six were really involved in it. They were pretty much just tacked on. If The Best Night Ever did one thing better, it's that it really featured all of them, explored their hopes and dreams a bit, and how they deal with them not turning out as expected. Here they honestly could have been cut out entirely without losing too much.

Of course, Twilight desperately needed a focus episode these season where she wasn't having neurotic breakdown, and she got one. So there's that.

Speaking of The Best Night Ever...man, that seems like such a long time ago. It's crazy to think how much has happened and what's changed since then. And really, how indicative of their respective seasons both finales really are. Remember when At The Gala was the **** and pretty conclusively the best song in the show?

You're comparing FiM with that horseapple that was The Little Mermaid? *Pinkie disgusted*

What now? I liked the Little Mermaid from Disney...

Two reasons:

One, The Little Mermaid wasn't really a good movie. Especially that when you think about it, the only lesson that it seemed to pass on is that it's okay to screw up and doom your life with a pact with the devil, because your parents are going to get you out of it.... .

And it was simply overrated. Like a bunch of Disney movies. Really, the songs were boring (to me), I preferred This Day Aria much much more. Which leads to...

Two, it implies that A Canterlot Wedding was ripping it off. And considering that the only similarity I can find between them is how Big Bad disguises herself as Damsel In Distress, I find that to be wrong. (AND insulting to FiM).

I'll admit, it has been a long time since I watched The Little Mermaid. But that's all I can connect between them too. And The Little Mermaid WAS NOT THE FIRST TO DO IT. <_<
