Edit: Call me a foal, but only now have I realised how much more well-mannered this thread is compared to BSN in general. Bronies are indeed superior forum posters, it seems

You'll find that most of those embracing the pone are of proper etiquette. Care for some tea? Also, I'd never call you a foal based on what I've seen. No signs of foal play here.

Earl Grey, if you would be so kind
BTW, I've read somewhere that the next season will only air during September.
Thoughts/Confirmations?

Lmao, I see what you did there. Yeah, in both cases, the person performing the marriage seemed very excited to be doing so.Lenimph wrote...

The last two episodes were basically a re-telling of The Little Mermaid's story from Disney. But hell, they did a good job on it.
Exactly what I was thinking.

Two reasons:
One, The Little Mermaid wasn't really a good movie. Especially that when you think about it, the only lesson that it seemed to pass on is that it's okay to screw up and doom your life with a pact with the devil, because your parents are going to get you out of it.....
And it was simply overrated. Like a bunch of Disney movies. Really, the songs were boring (to me), I preferred This Day Aria much much more. Which leads to...
Two, it implies that A Canterlot Wedding was ripping it off. And considering that the only similarity I can find between them is how Big Bad disguises herself as Damsel In Distress, I find that to be wrong. (AND insulting to FiM).
I'll admit, it has been a long time since I watched The Little Mermaid. But that's all I can connect between them too. And The Little Mermaid WAS NOT THE FIRST TO DO IT. <_<
1. Take a chill pill, because no one really cares. I'm more then certain though that the writer was making a nod to The Little Mermaid on purpose in respect and admiration for the film, you know just like all the other nods they did this season (Indiana Jones, James Bond, etc etc). I'm sure a female writer for a cartoon show aimed at little girls would notice the similarities to one of the biggest and most famous animated movies aimed at the same audience. Also "Under the Sea" and "Poor Unfortunate Souls" are epic songs.
2. Ursula did the whole blank-stare hypnotizing spell thing to prince Eric in The Little Mermaid too...
Edit: I want the next big baddy of the My Little Pony series to be designed off a drag queen.

Well, now we have an explanation for why Cadence is a pegasus-unicorn, but doesn't seem to actually be personally very powerful (you may recall Shining was the one who actually threw the shield back up - he basically just got a boost from Cadence).

Wing Boner
Supposedly that was the priests knee but I don't believe that explanation one bit.
Also permission to post the original Little Mermaid VHS cover please?

No, I totally remember that. Both the box cover and the pope implications weren't hard to notice.Come on, I can't be the only familiar with bizarre easter eggs in disney movies.

Cuz hypnotizing gazes were never done before TLM...
That wedding screencap (which reminded that one even existed in TLM) just reinforced my vision of how shallow Ariel is. Married within three days to a guy that digs your voice... Triton is the real hero.

Hey I'm not defending Ariel... I hate her as much as you if not more. But the movie is still a beautiful piece of art in terms of design, animation, music and is undeniably a influential force in the animated realm.
But anyway there's worst then Ariel... *stares at Thumbelina*

Anyway, hopefully they'll sing something from "The Little Mermaid" on the next FiW episode, they always do awesome disney song covers.

I thought that Fantasia 2000 shout-out (at least I think it was) was very nice though, so I'm not against references to other Disney movies.
Yep, I'll keep bringing this up as long as these comparisons are made
