THOU WOULD BE WISE TO WATCH THIS SPACE.

Arcadian Legend wrote...
I have my own theory in that Celestia and Luna were originally very
normal pegasi/unicorns. Discord showed up, causing trouble as was told
and so on, eventually Celestia and Luna went to do something about it.
They found and used the elements, trapping Discord but left an
unexpected side effect. Due to the fact that only two ponies were
wielding the power between them, the elements were much more powerful
and changed them irreversibly into the immortal godlike beings they are
now. Whether Celestia and Luna were rulers before or after Discord I
dunno but it seems more fitting

As for Cadence, she could be a
genetic mutant of some sort. Not immortal, or even an alicorn but rather
simply a unicorn with wings/winged unicorn with no real special magic
power except from the norm. Though she does still possess formidable
magic but so does Twi.

I realize this theory wouldn't jive with
many due to it practically shatters certain elements of the fanon, but
this is my headcanon and I'm sticking with it till we get official word.

Celestia just like us?

I'm thinking she's a sorceress in all honesty. Just a goodish one. Remember the Heartswarming eve Play? According to the play equestria wasn't quite founded yet and neither pegacorn seems to have existed. Unless the other ponies simply stumbled into their domain >.>

just a thought.

remember how the coat of arms was the luna/celestia symbol even though the creation of the nation of equestria was dated before their rise to power?  I always thought it was another Celestia dictator-queen propaganda...then it hit me..isnt there a real world dictator who imposes himself as a god to his nation?

theres a chance that the beginning of the story wanted us to buy into that..The idea that celestia and her sister are goddesses, instead of the possibility that they r Gandalf the white-tier sorceresses. they only want us to believe they r gods so they can rule absolutely. B)

Interesting question. I'm of the opinion that they're something close to "gods."

Again, it all comes down to how you define a god. Is there some sort of arbitray inborn dvinity that is required? If so, how do you define and measure that divinity?

I mean, the princesses are immortal and possessing of great power, including control over aspects of the cosmos. If they are powerful enough sorceresses to accomplish that, can they really be called anything -but- gods?

Oh, and GET OUT OF MY HEAD NEXT DAY ARIA.

EDIT: You missed all the fun, Eternal. We're going to have to go back and repost all the Twi pics.

EDIT: Also, we've advanced 32 pages in about 48 hours.

I don't think the thread has moved this fast since around when Lesson Zero and Luna Eclipsed were aired.

I don't think any human--or pony--is powerful enough to make themselves immortal. Great poower, sure, but they must eventually die. I think that would be the line for me. Immortality=gods, mortal=powerful powerful magical beings.

And , Twi pics! I'll never say no to that.

I don't know if we ever gave you newbies a formal welcome, so consider this a collective one.

Not the ancient diary versions they just get extremely weak

I don't know what the "ancient diary" versions are.

But I know that in Dracula, one of the originals, he dies.
