I don't know why but when I try to copy the color from an existing pinkie pie picture .. the color came out differently. Gimp hates meh. 

Edit: It's an attempt to make a filly Pinkie Pie.
Any opinions or should I quit now in shame

well the head is too big and the body is a bit too small, but thats more to your artstyle than an error tbh.

hey guys, this is kinda not mlp-related but its love and tolerance related so its kinda related.
I was wondering, what does "feeling sorry for yourself" even mean?

Today I just finished a story arc with a character I made in my blog, named "katie". Spoiler alert, her brother suicides after he murders the people that shot her and murdered his girlfriend. The suicide itself ties into a lot of problems that she and her brother fought with. Think Kick-ass combined with the breakfast club with Bioshock's ending.
It wasn't until the final closing scene where this thought popped into my head.

Katie is crying over Tyler's gravestone, shes just bawling. She goes into an internal monologue on how life is about being able to find what brings us happiness and how sometimes when we lose something, theres no getting it back.  Then a phrase popped into my head. "Stop feeling sorry for yourself".

Its so hyper-critical and hurtful, that simple phrase undos everything this character worked for, and Im asking myself, why?
At that point, I dont know what to make of the scene..Her brother just died, shes miserable and rightly so. Shes grieving, and some guy in the crowd criticizes her for feeling bad about a bad situation.

So in the vein of "love and tolerance", what does "feeling sorry for yourself" mean? theres something so foul and manipulative about it. Its like someone denying you your own feelings.

hmmm... from the literal perspective i would say it means you feel sorry about something that happened to you, or you feel sorry for no other reason than to satisfy your own need to feel sorry.

In general i think the phrase tends to be used more when people are trying to tell someone to get over a situation which is not nearly as bad as it seems. For example say i drop my ice cream and i'm havin a ****ty day so i go home whine and complain and moan and groan over just my ice cream i would expect someone at that point to say "quite feeling sorry for yourself".

Now if we look at that example from outside my POV where i'm just really sad my ice cream fell and my day was ****, the other person might percieve my pining over the ice cream as just me satisfying a need to feel bad/sorry about something. Which would subsequently warrant the 1st 2 literal usages and teh 3rd general usage >.>.

If we take a look at german (and this is probably bad form in this case) "tut mir leid" (literally something like: does to me misfortune/harm English~i'm sorry) we might also suppose that since English is a germanic language it's possible that our word "sorry" also stands in for "mis/un+fortunate" at times (much in the same way "tut mir leid" means i'm sorry but "leider" on it's own is "unfortunately". which would make the phrase even easier to get

"stop feeling sorry for yourself" = "stop feeling [unfortunate] for yourself" - stop feeling like unfortunate things happen (only) to you.

personally i think the phrase also implies that the "feeler" is being selfish with their feelings but that could just be a me thing.

and of course another situation i could see it used in is when someone knows they did something wrong, did the action, then felt terrible about it later after getting in trouble for it. I'm not sure exactly why there... but i could see it used like that.

....i think it's the reflexive that adds complication to the mix, because "feeling sorry for him" or "Don't feel sorry for him" make considerable more sense and require no real inspection to see what they mean. Oh the power of the english reflexive (ours are slightly different than the rest of the european languages in usage, unlike many other european languages where Verbs that require a reflexive do exist and are called "reflexive verbs" english seems to only hav 3-5 acutal reflexive verbs, however we can pair our Reflexives with practically any verb and make it reflexive. just fun linguistics idea of the day >.>)
