You heard about the newest thing Tara Strong did on EQD? I'll link the article.

http://www.equestria...some-again.html

I'm kind of scared about how awesome one person can be before the universe can't handle the awesomeness anymore and implodes. Because she's damn near the limit.

Remind who that is again? I assume she is someone of importance?

Tara's the VA for Twilight Sparkle, and well known within the industry (look at her TV Tropes or imdb page - her list of credits is insane). Over the last six or so months she's pretty much become the unofficial brony queen.

What Tara did there was actually rather " beautiful" in a kind sense.

uh... i have a dilemna that might affect us all.. Ok so i was over on the mechwarrior pony thread when i came across a user who said most of the Shows Writers have left the studio over season 3 which he's heard will only be 13 episodes long <.< He claims he's gotten his info from a writers blog, but on twitter i haven't seen anything from tara or that one writer i follow about this. And i certaintly haven't heard it anywhere else. Does anyone have any info on this?

quote from the mechwarrior thread

I have a good friend who follows different writer's blogs. There's been a huge amount of moving and shaking behind the scenes of MLP:FiM since the end of season one for sure.

Lauren stuck around as a creative director for season 2, overseeing some stuff, from what I heard the last straw for her was when they made Princess Cadence an Alicorn [she was originally scripted and bibled as a unicorn]

And this was a mass walkout, many of these writers had left at the same time, and announced moving on due to 'conflicts of interest'

Now, this isn't to say season 3 will suck... but when a majority of the writing staff walks out on a project, there's an issue going on behind the scenes... Hasbro has made no offical statements. nor would they I'm sure. Most people don't give 2 craps about who the writers are... but you can easily see episode quality, and it's easy to notice what episodes have character problems, or over all world building problems / continuity errors.

Also, the writer of my least favorite episode: Hearths Warming Eve [also she was a writer for Sponge Bob Square Pants.] is still around... >_> which worry's me a bit.

This is the first time i've heard anything about something like this and i don't believe he supports it with an article, and i'm pretty sure if something that big happened we here would know about it (because we seem to be a little more in tune on average in this thread with the news and such). But has anyone heard this? and if so where?

I think that's been known for a long time now. EQD had something on it ages ago. (so far ago I can't remember the overall title and content of the post)

I think there may have been something on increasing the episode length while cutting the amount of eps but I'm not sure.

That sounds good, Most eps could've used more depth.

Yeah i don't see how it's necessarily a bad thing to do that. Why'd they walk out though? and do you have an article on it or something?

edit: were they just cut or did they actually walk away?

edit: Edit: searched EQD (probably did it poorly my google fu is not best) but i can't find anything other than the news that Faust is Consulting something or another which we knew about in may 2011 >.>

The "13 episodes ordered" thing has been known for a while, but we don't even know if that's all that will be ordered for this season. Studio B just recently hired a new writer a month or two back.

As for a "mass walkout" from the writing staff, that's patently false. AKR is moving to Care Bears (and I think Charlotte Fullerton? not sure), and Meghan McCarthy is being bumped up to Story Editor since Rob Renzetti is leaving. Lauren left to do Super Best Friends and is apparently working with her husband on a new show of his (I don't think Craig McCracken needs introduction). The rest of the writing crew is still there.

Frankly, anytime somebody begins a controversial statement with "I have a friend who", that throws up a red flag to take what they're saying with a grain of salt. If they can't even point to an article or blog entry to back it up, that's an even bigger red flag. If there's no evidence period to back up what they're saying, you can safely disregard them for the moment.

Also, he thinks Hearth's Warming Eve is the worst episode ever, so his opinion is bad and he should feel bad.

Oh man, I hope season 3 is as at least better than the first two seasons..Maybe the season 2 finale was so boss, it was the last hurrah before everypony jumped ship..

I can understand why the original writers WOULD leave. Its easy to imagine how this might be about forsaking Faust's vision which propelled it to where MLP is now for the whole selling out to please people instead of staying true to what made the show great.

i like this post so much... so much is right with it mostly underlined part. and thankyou for dismissing my fears ^^ I figured it would be best to just dismiss it but i am not quite as on top of the Studio B news as other folks, although i do follow that Meghan McCarthy on Twitter, she is rather funny sometimes.

But someone is making a carebears, i'm a wee scared to hear that news mostly because as a youngling i actually liked that show them and their little cloud cars *fond memories* but i mean looking back that is one of those shows i think actually hit it's stride artwork wise when i was young, unlike MLP which at the time frightened me because my god man-bear-pig-horse-men-things is the only way to describe those ponies. (i really really really hate all the pony designs before this generation, my hatred for non fim design can not be measured, the art is my big thing with cartoons)
