Its the captions on screen that make it shine. It probably wouldn't be nearly as effective otherwise.

Y'know who needs more songs in season 3? AJ n' Dash. It's kind of ironic too because the VA who does the two is also the only one of the Mane 6 to also have the singing roles.

Dunno, I thought it was a lot better this year, as opposed to Season 1 where AJ and Dash seemed to kind of disappear late in the season while Rarity and Fluttershy (and to a lesser degree Pinkie) got a ton of focus.
In fact, given how Mare Do Well went, one could argue Dash got -too much- focus this season.
Actually, you know who really needs more time is Twilight. I suppose the season finale basically being an hour long Twilight episode helped make up for it, but it felt like she disappeared for long stretches of the season after they decided she didn't need to be in every episode anymore.
