Thats brilliant. I feel all the Mane 6 would have to be major characters though for some reason. I just cant see them in even a semi-major role.

I'd say Luna/Nightmare Moon would be a better fit for Galadriel, seems perfect for the "In place of a dark lord, you shall have a queen..." scene. "All shall love me and despair" also couldn't be more fitting.

Frodo- Twilight Sparkle
Gandalf- Celestia
Sam- Applejack
Merry and Pippin- Dashie and Pinkie
Saruman - Luna (seen as Nightmare Moon for the majority of teh plot)
Aragorn- Shining Armour (obviously not related to Twi this time)
Legolas- Rarity?
Gimli- Spike (the thought of Spike seeing Rarity as a rival instead of the usual amuses me)
Boromir- Bic Mac
Treebeard- Fluttershy
Faramir- Braeburn
Sauron- Chrysalis (Not Discord, he doesn't have an army)
The Balrog- Discord

Anyway this is just a small list of the major players. You can add more/change my list if you want.Also-

Steward Denethor II- Blueblood

That's a pretty good list but yea Luna isn't evil enough to be Saruman. And lol at Flutters as Treebeard.
