Grimdark, Adventure.
I just took a look at FoE's tags. It got Grimdark, Crossover, Adventure, and of course Legendary.
Here's the thing- A lot of other tags would've fit it. Shipping and Sad come to mind. But tags go towards the main focuses of the story. Its tags? Those are the big ones.
With that in mind, my story would simply be Grimdark/Adventure.
Which I like, because the less tags, the more attractive the story is. If your story has like a gagillion tags, people will probably be uninterested.
Though I can guarantee that the story will also be sad, comedic, have some shipping/friendshipping, etc etc

Well, there's a difference between a story having comedic relief and comedy being the whole point. The Blues Brothers is a comedy. Dr. Strangelove is a black comedy. Die Hard has plenty of comedic moments in it, but fundamentally it's an action movie.
Same for Sad, Shipping/Romance (although that's very commonly combined with other tags), etc.
There's also several levels of Grimdark. "Dark" typically refers to one with mature subject matter but you can be reasonably sure nobody we really care about is going to die. "Grimdark" all bets are off. "Grimdark-War" is a specialized one. I've also seen a "Grimlight" once, which was a fakeout on a Cupcakes situation.
Some of the tags I'm not really clear on the purpose of. For example, precisely what the difference between "Normal", "Slice of Life", and "Random" are. I guess you could say "Normal" is more tone and content (oppose it to Grimdark) and "Slice of Life" and "Random" are more about plot (oppose them to Adventure or Comedy).
"Sci-Fi" seems like an oddball, as there are quite a few fics I can think of that would deserve it (Fallout Equestria certainly should) but don't have it.
For example:

Hey Prince, sis told me how she managed to put her OC in without sacrificing things she envisioned for her. And by that I mean making an alternate version of Lily D'Lua and named her Lily Smiles. Clever. Cleeeeverrrr.

I never liked GrimDark, I don't even know what that means... I am suprised there is no horror, but I guess that is what Dark is. mine is Dark, Romance/Shipping, Adventure, and Comedy

A simply horror fic would just be [Dark]. Personally I think Grimdark gets used a bit too often in situations that don't really warrent it. You have to remember it's a term from the 40K fandom, and, well, you'd have to try really goddamn hard to reduce Equestria to the state that the grim darkness of the 41st millenium is in.
Basically you have to get into mass death, famine, plague, zombie apocalypses, Pinkie going on a murderous rampage, etc. before you ramp up to [Grimdark].

Well, depends. Is there a war going on? Are main characters (either of the fic or of the show) going to die? Then you can probably file it under Grimdark.
