It can be seen as a dangerous fruit only to be directly handled by unicorns and alicorns. While edible for pegasi and earth ponies, it must be handled by a magic user beforehand.
Hence why every employee of McNana's has a horn.

Speaking of which, I hope the Rainbow Dash VA ends up sounding...like Rainbow Dash.
Sometimes I can hear the difference between the character's VA for the show and the VA for the game and its a little annoying(not that it can be helped).
