I do like Halo Reach's end mission.

Mass Effect 2 had a good ending too.

Dragon Age's Sacrifice ending is wonderful as well.

The ending for Rupert's and Walter's campaigns in Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes were amazing. Rupert = better than Oghren BTW. I think Rupert would beat Oghren in a drinking contest hands down.

That's just from the top of my head.

Each of the Baldur's Gate games had great endings, that balanced closing the individual story while still setting up future games. And Throne of Bhaal was an epic conclusion.

Another great is Arkham Asylum. "I'll never let you win. Never." *PUNCH*

Fallout 1

I won't even try to name a "Best" ending because there are a lot of really good ones...but the ending of Fallout 1 did have a great impact on me from a Player Character standpoint. Everything you go through to save your Vault and then...well, don't want to spoil it.

Fallout and Fallout 2 had such great endings. Fallout 2 was my favorite though Frank Horrigan was one of the most badass end bosses ever.

“You've gotten a lot farther than you should have, but then you haven't met Frank Horrigan either. Your ride's over, mutie. Time to die.”
—Frank Horrigan

I must've tried to fight Horrigan at least 50 times Posted Image

Too many Epic Violent confrontations from all types of Media kept me from catching on to the solution for a while...I felt pretty stupid when I finally had that "eureka!" moment.Posted Image

He punched Deathclaws in HALF. Your move Norris.

And now that I think about it Dead Space 2 had a great ending too. Especially liked the homage to Dead Space's ending when Isaac turned to his right.

Crysis 2- I liked the epic feeling to it.
Final Fantasy 7 Crysis Core- I cried.
Witcher 2- Ladybug flying off. Europeans will know what that means.

There are so many. My favorites that I can think of are:

Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil CV
Dino Crisis 2
Red Dead Redemption
Mass Effect 2
MW1
MW2
DAO
I would say the ending to RE5, just because I was gutted that I had to make Wesker eat a rpg.

Red Dead Redemption - John Marston is dead, but the story does not end there. His son Jack, takes up his six shooters and goes hunting for the federal agent who gunned him down. And John Marston's dream of a peaceful life for him and his family is shattered when Jack guns down Agent Ross. The endless circle of violence continues.

Total agreement. One of my favourite games ever!

KOTOR (dark) and Jade Empire (both but especially C.F) were awesome. Agree with Seagloom!

A few games listed here that I haven't completed yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing them. Here's mine:

Final Fantasy IX - typically good length with a lot of closure for an FF ending, but more eventful and interesting than most IMO

Mass Effect 1 and 2 - good dramatic endings that immediately make you want to play the sequel

Heavy Rain - wraps up a very intruiging story

Shadow of the Colossus - quite an emotional ending, especially with Aggro

1.Legacy of Kain:Soul Reaver 2(Two twists in one and the battles were fantastic too)
2.Mass Effect 2(It's just such an excellent combination of epic music and  heroic deeds)
3.Metal Gear Solid 4(It just show how people the characters deal with their new situation especially Snake T_T) and also pretty much every other MGS game has an awesome conclusion.
4.F.E.A.R - Seemed conclusive right up until the end. Pretty much one of the greatest cliffhangers in game history.
5.Red Dead Redemption(John's noble sacrifice to save his family made me shed a tear or two)

This thread is in serious need of more Portal 2. I agree with everyone on Red Dead and I also want to add HL2: Ep2's ending.

I think I've said this before, but Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door had an immensely satisfying conclusion.

I didn't cry then, but I'll admit that the endings of Advent Children and XIII made me tear up quite a bit.

I forgot to mention Contra, which has an awesome ending for the simple fact of that it genuinely feels like an accomplishment when you finally beat the game. The game is monumentally tough!
