There are some achievement/trophy descriptions that are ambiguously worded:

This one reads:  "Completed a full year in Kirkwall without any party member being knocked unconscious."

I had the impression that each Act represents three years (is that mistaken?). Not that I am quibbling, for i do
understand that one must complete an entire Act in order to qualify.

I have read in the forums that the prologue is considered to be part of Act One but more people say that it is not.

I have also read in the forums that even being injured in a trap (without dying or being "knocked unconscious")
will negate this achievement.  I don't see any consensus on that.

I have just gone through a section of Act One where i got knocked down momentarily -- i certainly wasn't unconscious but i was left wondering if I had just disqualified myself nevertheless.


To me, "unconscious" means when your profile goes black and you are out of the fight.

Can someone enlighten me, before I continue, as to whether this achievement means what it says -- or whether
there are hidden disqualifications like suffering a small amount of damage through a trap? Or any other way?

I have read that the best way to get this achievement/trophy is by saving frequently before every fight...
and to keep repeating until no one "dies".   But that still does not enlighten me as to whether I or any team
member can suffer ANY damage, from traps, or whatnot....

Each act is one year (the gaps between acts are three years).

As to the achievement, you get knocked unconscious (voiding the achievement) if your health bar is completely depleted. Injuries caused by traps don't matter (unless the trap also depletes your health).

Myself I got this achievement in act 1 after finishing the rock wraith battle.

this achievement is doable. You can do it in Act 1, 2 or 3. The Game guide I have says to do it in Act 3 on casual setting. This way you aren't as likely to get knocked out in a fight.

Reason for doing this in act 3 is because it is the shortest of all 3 acts also you don't have as many battles to wade through to complete said act.

Any recommendations as to the composition of one's team to meet this particular objective:
i.e. no one being knocked out.

Would there be an advantage to having four ranged members?

Probably the party members with the most constitution would help. Aveline and Fenris can be pretty durable.

thanks. i always take Aveline with me.... but tend to neglect Fenris & Anders because they complain so much. However anything to get this achievement/trophy......

Anders is a need if you play on anything other than casual. Anders is a healing monster. Fenris is good but I don't really use him.

I did it with mage hawke, aveline, isabela and merrill in my party. then again i always do the save and save often so if my party members get knocked out i just reload and start off where i last saved to get the achievement.

Aveline, Fenris, Verric -- Act One with lots of Restoration potions (found them easier to obtain than Stamina) --- rather a long haul but the Unstoppable achievement/trophy was obtained.

Saved frequently. Verric got seriously wounded once, so i reloaded. Otherwise no problems.

I just finally got this achievement in my 10th playthrough (along with the supplier achievement, hooray!). It's difficult, but I was finally able to do it in Act 1. Actually, in my last playthrough, I was able to go through the whole game with only one companion being knocked unconscious. I thought about replaying the quest I was on where that happened, but nah, that seemed like cheating.
